We got an email within the last hour, notifying us that there was a petition to Ban Islam, "that will be presented to the World Court".
It was signed by "Mystic".
It has been pointed out to us that "this will only make the moderate Muslims mad" and also that "you can't fight people who blow themselves up with petitions".
That may very well be.
Or, It might be a desperate attempt to "work through the system".
But, there's something to be said about ingenuity and PR, and we'd guess that's what the petition is apt to get: attention.
Attention to what some feel is a growing problem in some sectors of Europe.
Whatever it's intent, a copy of the petition's wording is presented below, as well as some links for anyone interested in signing it.
To: International citizens BAN ISLAM TO: THE WORLD COURT IN THE INTEREST OF HUMAN VALUES AND UNIVERSAL LOVE, WE DIRECT THIS PETITION TO THE WORLD COURT FOR JUDGEMENT. WE, THE UNDERSIGNED INTERNATIONAL PETITIONERS, REQUEST A BAN ON THE ORGANIZATION CALLED ISLAM. WE REQUEST THIS BAN DUE TO THE CRIMINAL ACTS OF ITS FOUNDER, MOHAMMED AND THE KORAN'S DOCTRINES WHICH PRESENTLY LEGITIMIZES THE CRIMINAL ACTS OF PAEDOPHILIA, ASSASSINATIONS, THE OPPRESSION OF WOMEN BY SUPPRESSING THEIR HUMAN RIGHTS, THE PENALTIES OF STONING AND DISMEMBERMENT, THE UTILIZATION OF TERROR AS A WEAPON OF INTIMIDATION AND CONTROL. Sincerely, |
There are currently 265 signatures on the petition, which was posted in the last hour.

Like we said before, whatever it's intent, the petition is sure to be condemned: by some for being "hate" literature; others, for not going far enough.
But, we'll let the reader decide that for himself.

Dog the Bounty Hunter Petition to Arts and Entertainment Network OVER 400 Pages of Signatures So Far!
0 commentsNOTICE Dog Fans, give yourselves a pat on the back. We've already collected over 400 pages worth of signatures and comments on the "BRING BACK DOG" petition. We're going to leave it up for a few more days; probably until Monday or Tuesday.Over 400 pages! We had to start a new post because the comments section at HaloScan was overloaded and was giving some people trouble. This will be up for a few more days. Keep up the good work! If you know anyone who hasn't signed yet, they still have 3 or 4 more days, so encourage them. All the instructions are the same as before. |
Sign the petition below and help us bring back the Dog.
Tired of reading about it, talking about and worrying about a Dog-less TV line-up?Now you can help get Dog out of the doghouse--now!
We are trying to collect 250,000 signatures to put "Dog the Bounty Hunter" back on the Art & Entertainment Network's fall line-up. The petition and electronic signatures will be sent to the AETV's corporate offices on November 26, 2007. AETV is the parent corporation of the A & E Network.
We will also send along all comments made by the readers--you--at the end of this story to AETV.
To help us help Dog, follow the instructions at the end of the petition wording.
That's 14 days to collect 250,000 signatures: that's only a little over 17,000 signatures a day--a small fraction of the show's audience.
Tell your friends and family and anyone else who might be interested in seeing "Dog the Bounty Hunter" possibly return to the airwaves. If A&E is unmoved, the outpouring of support might surely influence another rival network, such USA Network or Spike TV, to pick the show up.
The petition reads as follows:
Bring back "Dog the Bounty Hunter" to the Arts & Entertainment Network schedule.
The tapes released by the National Enquirer were of a private cell-phone conversation, made without Duane "Dog" Chapman's knowledge (most probably illegally) and sold for monetary gain.
The slur was not an expression of hate, but of ignorance.
Duane Chapman has on several occasions apologized on national TV broadcasts.
While not condoning the use of racial slurs, supporters urge the Arts & Entertainment Network to bring back the "Dog the Bounty Hunter" show.
The sooner, the better.
Only fourteen days.
Everybody better get busy.
[NOTE: We will update the totals from all our source petitions. We took the comments off to speed the page speed. Total for Dog the Bounty Hunter at 07:00 November 13, 2007: 1445]

DOG THE BOUNTY HUNTER UPDATES:
SIGN THE SAVE THE BOUNTY HUNTER PETITION
LISTEN to the INTERVIEW: DOG is a "Ticking Bomb"
Dog the Bounty Hunter's thousands of fans now have a chance to be heard. There are petitions popping up all over the internet.
When last we looked there were petitions, like the one below at "Keep Dog on TV", at TMZ and for awhile on CNN at the Larry King Page.
Whether these will sway the powers-that-be at the Arts & Entertainment Network, where the Bounty Hunter held sway, is not known. But if you are a Dog fan, it can't hurt and it gives you a chance to express your opinion.
Thousands upon thousands of Dog fans across the country have poured onto the Internet this week to help rally support to help return "Dog the Bounty Hunter" back to the airwaves.
One thing is for sure, the support for the Bounty Hunter seems to be in the 85-90% range. That's 9-1 in favor of the show returning.
And the support cuts across racial lines. Of the many comments and letters received at this site alone, the support among non-whites is nearly as great as the white Dog Fans.
Most fans are basically saying the same thing.
"We know Dog's a little rough around the edges. He's lived a hard life and tried to provide for his family. He shouldn't have said what he said, but it was private and if you listen to the tapes, he was more worried about his son Tucker's girlfriend being offended if she was around than slurring her."
Or variations thereof.
Here's an audio link from TMZ of an interview in July where the Dog says somedays he's like a bomb, ready to blow.
Who isn't?
If A & E doesn't respond to the outpouring of support for the Bounty Hunter, it's nearly certain that one of their competitors will. Advertisers have to take note also that the outcry in nearly wholly behind the hard-living Dog who has a heart of gold.
