"Instant Karma's gonna get you."
--John Lennon song
DBKP has just learned that Tucker Chapman, the son of Duane "Dog" Chapman who, many contend, sold out his TV star father, has been arrested for violating multiple terms of his parole.
Drugs and associating with know felons are reportedly the causes for his return to the slammer. An earlier mention of blackmail could not be substantiated at this time.
Tucker Chapman sold the tape to the National Enquirer of his father uttering a racial slur during a perceived private phone conversation.
"Dog the Bounty Hunter" was pulled from the A & E Networks line-up, the show suspended, and in the aftermath, many of the shows fans were none too happy with Tucker Chapman and his girlfriend, Monique Shinnery.
A spokeswoman for the Bounty Hunter and his family this morning confirmed the arrest, which was first reported by TMZ. The TMZ report said Tucker Chapman is at the Oahu Community Correctional Center.
Mona Wood, spokeswoman for Duane and Beth Chapman, said the couple is currently in Los Angeles and will return to Honolulu this week and are not planning further interviews.
Duane Chapman said after he learned that his own son sold the taped conversation to the Enquirer, that "he still loved his son."
Excerpts from TMZ report about Tucker Chapman follow:
Here's what went down: Our sources say two weeks after the tape surfaced, Dog learned Tucker was using drugs and threatened to expose him to his parole officer. Then the tape dropped -- interesting timing.
After that, we're told, a parole officer made Tucker check in to a rehab facility, which, we hear, Tucker walked away from.
Sources tell us Tucker's parole officer executed a surprise home inspection this week, and didn't like what he found. The PO then brought Tucker in on Friday, revoked his parole and sent him to the slammer. Among his alleged violations -- associating with known felons, failing a drug test and walking away from a rehab facility.
TMZ also released a statement it said received from Dog Chapman: "I am heartbroken that this has occurred, but I am relieved that my son in now in a place where he can no longer hurt himself. To my bruddahs in the system: please don't hurt my son as he knows not what he does. I love my son and wish him the best."
Last week, A & E announced that the popular "Dog the Bounty Hunter" was back in production and new episodes would be airing later this year.
The Bounty Hunter has been about second chances and he was ready for his. Production was supposed to restart this week, according to TMZ.
So, "Dog the Bounty Hunter" is back in production.
And, Tucker Chapman is back in jail.
And that's as it should be, according to many fans of the TV reality series.

"Dog the Bounty Hunter's" Return Official
Dog the Bounty Hunter fans can now start their celebrations.
It's now official: Dog the Bounty Hunter is coming back to the A & E TV line-up.
An A&E spokesman confirmed yesterday the resumption of the show's production immediately, though no date yet has been set for the show's new premiere.
KHNL TV in Honolulu stated that Beth Chapman confirmed to KHNL Tuesday morning that the show would resume production immediately.
Persistence and a showing of public remorse, along with a charity outreach to black groups, made a difference.
So did the actions of thousands of "Dog the Bounty Hunter" fans.
And the show's formerly big ratings on A&E Network didn't hurt, either.
ALSO: Dog the Bounty Hunter: The Dog is Back!
The public acts of remorse and contrition are over and a new journey that starts for the star of any TV show looms: to lure back enough former viewers to keep the show at the top of A&E's ratings line-up.
The announcement marked the latest step on a 3+ month journey of redemption and contrition for Duane "Dog" Chapman. Since the furor broke with the National Enquirer's publishing of the audio tapes of Chapman's heated exchange with son, Tucker, over his girlfriend during a private cell-phone conversation.

Fans of "Dog the Bounty Hunter" were first shocked, then angry and defensive about the suspension of their favorite TV reality show.
Eventually, fans went on the offensive, and a plethora of petitions sprung up around the web. Letter-writing campaigns and boycotts were also organized against everything from A&E Network's remaining line-up to the show's former sponsors.
One campaign even advised fans to send 1000s of pineapples to A&E's NY Headquarters in protest of the show's removal.
The news from around the web is almost universally cheerful at the return of the reality show, "Dog the Bounty Hunter", and it's star, Duane "Dog" Chapman. The show, which stars Chapman, as well as his wife, Beth, partner, Tim Chapman, son, Leland Chapman, and various other members of Duane Chapman's extended family.
Here's a round-up of what others are saying on Tuesday morning, February 20, 2008.
REUTERS:
Celebrity bounty hunter Duane "Dog" Chapman is set to return to television after his reality TV show was pulled from the air three months ago in a controversy over his use of a racial slur, cable channel A&E said on Tuesday.
An A&E spokesman said the network had decided to start production again of "Dog The Bounty Hunter" but no airdate has yet been scheduled.
"Over the last few months, Duane "Dog" Chapman has taken and continues to take the appropriate steps in reaching out to several African American organizations in an effort to make amends for his private comments to his son which were released publicly," said a statement from the network.
"Since the premise of "Dog The Bounty Hunter" is about second chances - we have decided to give him one."
E! ONLINE:
"We take this matter very seriously," A&E said in a statement at the time of the show's production suspension. "Pending an investigation, we have suspended production on the series. When the inquiry is concluded we will take appropriate action."
A&E, which removed Dog the Bounty Hunter info from its Website just after New Year's, has not yet set a date for the show's return, but a camera crew is reportedly in place, and lodging and cars have been rented for a fifth season.
CANADA NOW:
The network, A&E, has yet to set an official premiere date for Dog The Bounty Hunter, but it has been confirmed that he is coming back.
Production is set to start as soon as possible, as everything is just about set to go.
MONSTERS and CRITICS:
A&E are satisfied that Dog made ammends, and claim they are happy he reached out to the African American community.
HOLLYSCOOP:
The Dog will hunt again. A&E has confirmed that production has begun on the next season of Dog the Bounty Hunter in Hawaii. Guess A&E isn't worried about [Chapman's Enquirer-published comments], because their main man is back. That show did make a ton of money, and I can't imagine marathons of that show Intervention are keeping the ratings high. Congrats Dog! Now just keep your mouth shut.

A week ago, it was announced that the Dog the Bounty Hunter star would be making a charity appearance in Chicago in April.
The star of the Dog the Bounty Hunter is set to perform at Mooseheart Child City and School in Chicago, Illinois on April 11 and April 12. He'll be in concert with bands such as Echoing Angels, Emery, Inhabited, Flatfoot 56, and Will Duvall for two very different nights.
More importantly, Chapman will speak for 45 minutes from his heart about his life, tragedies, triumphs, and faith. Tagging along is his wife Beth Chapman, who also appears on the reality series Dog the Bounty Hunter. This meet and greet event also encourages spectators come with an open mind, and leave with a changed heart.
A former gang member with 18 prior convictions for armed robbery, Chapman was sentenced to five years in a Texas prison in 1977 after being convicted of the first degree murder of Jeremy Oliver. Chapman maintained his innocence of murder but was considered as a legal accessory for not reporting the shooting to the police. He was released on probation after 18 months. Eventually, he became a bail bondsman and bounty hunter, which is also the focus of the reality series Dog the Bounty Hunter.
As of Wednesday morning, no announcement was on the A&E Network's website yet. This was the latest story on the Dog the Bounty Hunter News Updates.
A&E Network:
January 30th, 2008: Duane "Dog" Chapman is officially free from his Mexican legal ordeal. A three-judge panel in Mexico unanimously ruled on Tuesday, January 29th, that the criminal charges against Dog, his son, Leland Chapman, and his close friend, Tim Chapman, must be dismissed; they cannot be extradited to Mexico to face criminal charges for their 2003 capture of serial rapist and fugitive Andrew Luster.
Andrew Luster, the famed heir to the Max Factor cosmetics fortune, had been convicted of drugging and raping three women over a four year span. During his trial in 2003, Luster fled the country, leading to an international manhunt. In June 2003, Dog and his team tracked the fugitive Luster in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where he was living under an alias, and seized him. Luster was handed over to the United States government by Mexican officials. He was subsequently found guilty and is currently serving a 124 year prison sentence.
However, as Mexican law does not permit private individuals to engage in bounty hunting on their own, Dog, Tim and Leland were arrested by the Mexican authorities, but were later released and they returned to the United States. In February 2007, US Marshals took all three men into custody on an extradition warrant stemming from the 2003 charges. The extradition warrant was dismissed in 2007 and the the criminal charges in Mexico have also now been dismissed.
A&E did have this in "About the Show", which is undated.
Last year was the Chinese calendar's Year of the Dog – and Duane "Dog" Chapman – the world's most famous bounty hunter - had enough drama to last him two lifetimes. Now, staring adversity in the face with his own freedom hanging in the balance, Dog is coming back with a vengeance to hunt down fugitives with his wife Beth and fearless Posse.
This year the Posse is back in action once again hitting the streets, tracking down fugitives, and giving them that one-of-a-kind dose of tough love only Dog can provide. In addition to Tim, Leland, and Duane Lee this year Baby Lyssa, Dog's daughter, joins the Posse full time.
With the threat of Mexican justice hanging over their heads, the stakes are higher than ever for Dog & the Posse; but the Chapmans are sticking together to get the job done – both on the streets and in the courts. As Dog says, "What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger."
And that's that.
Check back. We'll update regularly as more details are released about the show's return.
But for now, let the fan celebrations begin.

"You can Run
--But you can't hide"
"You can run, but you can't hide" will be heard again.
On TV.
The Dog is Back.
A & E is bringing back the Dog.
An A&E official has told website TMZ that his show "Dog the Bounty Hunter" is going back into production.
Beth Chapman has confirmed it to KHNL this morning.
A network official confirms to TMZ that the show is going back into production, but they've not yet set a premiere date. As of now, they're gearing up -- big time -- in Hawaii and production will begin ASAP. Makeup artists and camera crews have been hired, and houses and cars have been rented, all for the return of the show.
A&E had suspended production of the "Dog the Bounty Hunter" indefinitely last fall after a recording surfaced that featured Chapman making racial slurs during a private cellphone conversation with his son.
His son, Tucker, later sold the tape to the National Enquirer for a reported $15000 payment.
Chapman immediately began a tour of forgiveness, working with CORE and other groups to promote racial equality. We're told network execs were "very pleased" with Dog's attempt to make amends and his reaching out to members of the African American community.
A&E isn't just making this decision out of the goodness of their hearts either. The show was insanely popular for the network, here and internationally -- airing in over 20 countries.
Fans of the Dog can now at least get ready to celebrate the show's return.
From Fox:
The National Enquirer posted an audio clip of Chapman using a slur repeatedly in reference to his son's black girlfriend.
Chapman apologized and vowed never to utter the word again. He has met with several black leaders over the past several months.
UPDATE: 6:50 pm Tuesday February 19, 2008

There has been no news on the Dog the Bounty Hunter. All the news lately has been of the different efforts of the Dog's fans in their quest to get the Dog the Bounty Hunter show back on the airwaves.
So, we scoured and called and wrote. What we came up with was rumblings and rumors.
But, several of the rumors we heard, we heard in more than one place--from more than one source. So we thought that we'd present some of the things we heard and let the readers decide what they thought.
Maybe some of you have heard the same thing, or have information that we don't have.
Here's some of what we heard after a day of Dog info hunting and what we think about it. We know the readers won't be shy about what they think.
[Truth-O-Meter Ratings: 0 (it's probably a lie) to 10 (bet the ranch)]
* The Dog's been laying low.
Not much of a rumor here. It's a fact. Duane "Dog" Chapman has been out of the spotlight for several weeks now.
This is not very surprising, either. In Dog's case, "No News is Good News" right now.
[Truth-O-Meter Rating: 10.0]
* The Dog will be back in the public eye soon..
Again, this bit of information is easy to believe. The Dog won't stay hidden forever and has got to surface again sometime.
How soon is soon?
For many fans of the Bounty Hunter, it can't be soon enough. One of the common themes, in both comments left at this site and emails we've received, is that people feel a hole has developed in their regular TV viewing habits without their weekly 'dose of Dog'.
[Truth-O-Meter Rating: 8.5]
* The 'Dog the Bounty Hunter' show will not in the future and may never return to the airwaves.
We don't believe this. We don't believe anything in the world of TV, driven as it is by ratings, is set in stone. Duane Chapman's show was popular and a mainstay in the A & E Network's line-up.
This was one rumor we heard only one time. And we don't even like the guy who said it.
[Truth-O-Meter Rating: 3.0]
* There has been a "reaching out" to Dog by Afro-American groups.
This one we can believe. From the amount of email and comments we've received from ordinary black folk, there is a great rolling of eyes about what Dog said: but no acrimony, and certainly no hatred.
A great majority of our mail begins, "I'm non-Caucasian and you can tell that Dog is not a racist. He shouldn't have said what he said, but he didn't say it in anger." Or some variation of those thoughts.
If memory serves, there was no outcry against Dog and what was said during his private cellphone conversation by Black America.
Make no mistake: they were not happy, but judging from what we read, they shrugged their shoulders and shook their head at a man using ill-considered bad language.
The outcry came from certain White Americans eager to throw another person under the Political Correctness bus. This outcry came from the same quarters that attempts to stifle speech on college campuses, shout down disagreeable opinions and speakers and regulate Internet bloggers.
To them, this had nothing to do with Dog the Bounty Hunter; many of them wouldn't know Dog Chapman from a carburetor. Duane Chapman was only a means to an end.
Muzzling the Dog was their way of flexing their PC muscles.
Thankfully, those people are a small, if noisy, segment of the American population.
This rumor has substance because: Black or White, no one likes to see a person get railroaded. And Duane Chapman got railroaded.
[Truth-O-Meter Rating: 7.5]
* Duane Chapman hasn't so much as swore in the last month.
As unbelievable as this might be when first heard, we heard this from multiple sources. Dog is trying hard to clean up his whole language act.
We smiled the first time we heard this; our eyes opened wide, the second time; but the third time, well, what could we say?
As one source told us, "the Dog causing hurt and heartache among some of his fans really hit home with him on the need to clean up his language. He kept saying he was going to clean it up, but I'd heard that before."
"But this time--he accepted the challenge. I'm not saying he won't ever slip up ever again--he's human--but I haven't heard him swear in over three weeks."
One source even told us the Dog's swear-free and said "I swear it!"
After hearing this from three different people, we tend to believe it: after all, if it wasn't true, the National Enquirer would have had it on their front page by now.
[Truth-O-Meter Rating: 8.0]
* The Dog and Beth are getting a divorce over this whole mess.
I think this guy got Dog confused with another TV show star.
[Truth-O-Meter Rating: 2.0]
So that's it. After a whole day spent on the phone, this is what we dug up.
There was a few other things, but we're going to be doing some more checking on those items over the weekend.
Has anyone heard any of these? Does anyone have any additional information to offer? We'd like to know!
In the meantime, one source had this to pass on to Dog's fans: "Keep your chin up and your ears open."

Dog the Bounty Hunter: Today's the Day We Send the "Bring Back Dog" Petition to AE Network
0 comments
Today's the day.
After 2 and 1/2 weeks, we're sending our "Bring Back the Dog" Petition into Arts and Entertainment Network, complete with all of your comments.
Dog supporters have sent us [at latest count, at all locations] over 400 pages of comments, pleas and emails.
All are overwhelmingly in favor of a return to the airwaves of the "Dog the Bounty Hunter" TV show.
We are going to send in the petition and the attached names and comments by email today and follow it up with mailing the printed out pages to A & E.
We know we could have collected more signatures if we would have left the petition up longer. And many of you asked us to do that.
But we felt that it was important to start the ball rolling in Dog's favor.
We will be putting another petition up in the near future. Our purpose it twofold: we want to keep the pressure up on A & E Network and we want to keep the Dog's situation alive in the minds of his supporters.
We have some other ideas in the works also--but they're not ready yet.
If you have an idea on how we can better make your voices heard, drop us an email.
Send your idea to mondoreb@gmail.com.
We'll be contacting others who've posted online petitions in an effort to report on how their efforts are going.
This is not all of the petitions out there: only the ones of which we are aware.
There is a letter writing campaign underway. Information on this is below.Send your e-mails and comments to bond@bondinfo.org or write to us at:

Two bounty-hunting stories for Dog fans.
One, about what Dog did; the other, about what Dog might do.
Back in June, the 20th to be exact, of 2003, the headline were about Duane "Dog" Chapman. But they were headlines of a different sort. The headlines of an American who had been jailed for doing a "good deed" in most people's eyes.
Dog became a household word in the Andrew Luster case. For those whose memories are fuzzy, here's what was written back then.
Anthony Harwood's Heir's Hunter Arrested in the Mirror. HE is a father of 12, a devout Christian - and America's most famous bounty hunter.
But now Duane "Dog" Chapman and two of his sons are languishing in a Mexican jail while his long-suffering wife Beth tries to raise bail money.
The man who has caught 6,000 fugitives was arrested as he added convicted rapist Andrew Luster, heir to the Max Factor cosmetics fortune, to his list.
FBI agents are arranging extradition for Luster. But the Chapmans could face charges - Mexican law says bounty hunting is kidnapping.
At home in Honolulu, Beth told the Mirror: "I think it's disgraceful for what he did, the deed he did for the US government.
"The Feds are just going to let him rot. Duane talked to them every day during the hunt. Now they say they can't have anything to do with him."
Chapman, a bounty hunter since 1979, is so famous in America that he organises his own speaking tours.
He is known for "Dogisms" such as: "Born on a mountain, raised in a cave. Arresting fugitives is all I crave." Or: "Six men carry you or 12 men can judge you, you decide.
Fast forward to November of 2007. Dog the Bounty Hunter is laying low, his show canceled, his fans signing petitions, mailing pineapples to the A&E Network and rallying to get his "Bounty Hunter" TV show back into the line-up.
Just because Dog is temporarily down, doesn't mean that other bounty hunters are not working. And some of them are working for evil ends.
The following story caught our eye for several reasons. Since the "Enquirer tapes" story made headlines, we've heard a lot of comments about "Dog fans": who they are, what they do with their time when they're not watching "Bounty Hunter" or their level of education.
Those comments are generalizations and they are, in many cases, unsympathetic characterizations of Bounty Hunter fans.
This got us thinking: what would they think of the actions of the bounty hunters in this second story. This is about a group of bounty hunters who are not after criminals. Their prey is a young girl whose only crime is that she is running from being raped, beaten and/or other violence.
The story is about the girl running from those bounty hunters. It happened in England. It happens in the United States, but the stories usually get reported in the back of newspapers and don't receive much attention in the popular media.
The story begins: "She has been kidnapped, tortured, shot at, beaten and, at 16, forced into marriage with a stranger twice her age. And for the past five years Sara Ali has been tracked across Britain by an army of bounty hunters... bounty hunters paid for by her own family." --about Sara Ali in The Mirror's "Woman's 'honour crime' hell by Lucy Thornton.
Settle back--the story takes about 10 minutes to read--but is worth the time. Read the rest of this story and ask yourself: What would Dog do?
Now 22, divorced and living near Newcastle with the father of her two-year-old child, Sara is a victim of so-called "honour crime", a never-ending nightmare that began when she was just 11 years old.
"We lived in a really big nine-bedroom Victorian house and it was always mad busy. My dad had two wives, so there were 11 of us.
My mum had married him in Pakistan after he claimed his wife back in the UK was dying. England was this fantasy, a picture-perfect country with money, so her father agreed to the match.
I had a good childhood, I was popular at school and was pretty much allowed to do what I wanted. But it all started to change when I was 11 years old and taken to Pakistan where men kept asking my parents if they could marry me ... Mum and Dad were under a lot of cultural pressure.
I just thought it was all pretend and even when one of my sisters overheard my parents discussing my engagement I just thought this was the sort of thing that happened to big girls, not to me.
Then, when I turned 14 and was back in the UK, there was a phone call from Pakistan asking when I was going over there to be married.
All hell broke loose when I said I wouldn't go. And it was then that the mental and physical torture began.
My father would drop to the floor, clutching his chest saying I was giving him a heart attack. My brothers and sisters told me they would kill themselves because of the shame I was bringing to the family.
I got a really bad beating from my dad. I locked myself in my bedroom but he kicked the door off its hinges and screamed at me, 'I'm going to burn you alive.'
I remember being so scared I lay shivering from fear in my room. In the night I crept downstairs and ran to the local police station.
I was put into foster care but eventually my family got in touch and I ended going back to them because I was just so scared they would kill me if I disobeyed them.
But when I got home, things just got worse. They called me "dirt" and an "outcast". I had to cook my own food in different pots and pans from the rest of the family.
A little while later, when I was 15, they tricked me into travelling to Pakistan by getting my grandma to phone to tell me she was really ill and wanted to see everyone before she died. I was so naive.
We all flew over, but when we arrived they drove straight past my grandma's house. They told me I was being taken to a remote village to be married. I had no passport, no money - and no hope. I was just a child.
The wedding day was held on my 16th birthday to a man who was 40 and looked like my dad with big bushy hair, a big moustache and a pockmarked face.
I begged him to help me, saying I did not want to marry him but he told me: "Why would I say no to a walking visa?"
I knew it was hopeless, but I even told the priest during the ceremony I did not want to marry this old man, but he just carried on.
On the wedding night I had to go to my "husband's" house where he tried to rape me. I was 16, and had never even kissed a boy before. I'd only ever held hands.
He was an animal. He held my arms and pinned me down. He started licking me and bit me like a dog. I kicked and screamed the place down which probably saved me, but still I felt like I wanted to pour bleach all over my body I felt so dirty.
In the end he pulled my trousers down and screamed in my face: "I'm not going to keep you as a wife. I'm going to use you and abuse you because you're just a slag!"
He beat me violently and tried to rape me again but I made so much noise that his family stopped him in case someone outside the house heard. After that I kept a knife hidden under my pillow.
The next month I flew back to England with my family while he waited for his visa to join us. I went back to college for a bit, but I was messed up and started drinking. I tried to kill myself several times and even threw myself into the canal but I was always dragged back home, without any help or sympathy.
Six months after the marriage I was told my husband was coming to England to live with us and I realised I had to escape. That's when I ran away to Wales, and over time met and fell in love with a white boy.
I thought at last that I was safe and that they would never find me. But I was wrong ...
One day about 80 people turned up outside my flat - they were everywhere - blocking the road. Friends, relatives, friends of friends, neighbours of friends of friends.
When I opened the door I was slapped in the face and dragged back to a car by my hair and driven to my parents' house.
When they got me home, my parents told me I had to sleep with my vile husband but I refused. I begged my father to kill me rather than put me through this daily hell. In total I think I ran away about half a dozen times, but they always found me - even in women's refuges.
They paid these strangers to find me, bounty hunters, giving them my picture, my national insurance number and they showed it round, asking for me.Eventually, I plotted with my boyfriend to run away, but it went wrong as we were spotted by a relative. We were followed by 15 cars and my brother pulled in front, forcing us to emergency stop. He got his arm through the window, flicked the lock and grabbed me by the hair, pulling me onto the road.
The police heard about it and told my family to take me to the police station. Dozens of my relatives waited outside, but the police helped me escape to a refuge.
But again they tracked me down and threatened to kill my sister if I didn't go with them.
They forced me to go Pakistan and kept me with my so-called husband's family in terror for nine months, telling me I was there to make babies.
I had two guards outside my door and was beaten regularly and one time I was kept in hospital with internal bleeding when his brother beat me with a chair.
They would say: "It's not England. If we bury you now, nobody will come looking. They have no authority over here."
I was even shot at because they said I had disrespected their brother, but it missed and went over my shoulder, I'm still deaf in one ear.
I eventually managed to slip out and phone a youth worker in the UK. It was an answer machine and I left a message: "Please get me out of here. They are going to kill me. If you don't hear from me in the next few weeks, assume that I'm dead!"
Afterwards my husband's family found out I had used a phone and threw me into a river, breaking my arm. But the youth worker contacted immigration who arranged for a judge to have me sent back to the UK.
I never went back to my parents and now I have a beautiful family of my own. I was in heaven until a few months ago when, out of the blue and after changing my name by deed poll I received a letter from that man, a petition for a divorce.
I was terrified, he'd simply found me by paying £14.99 to a tracker agency. But if I must, I will simply move again ... people who lose hope, lose everything.'
Think this is a rare case? Ask yourself that same question after reading the following statistics.Around 5,000 women a year - 13 a day - die worldwide in "honour" crimes, according to the United Nations.
In Britain figures show 13 people die every year in honour killings, but police and support groups believe it is many more.
The Metropolitan Police are investigating 200 deaths they believe are linked to honour killings.
In a BBC poll of 500 young British Asians last year, a shocking 10 per cent believed honour killings were justified.
Around 250 forced marriages are reported to the Home Office Forced Marriage Unit every year, a third of which are children as young as 12 years old.
The suicide rate of Asian women aged 16 to 24 is three times the national average.
Two stories: one short, the other, longer. Would Duane "Dog" Chapman, for all of the things he's been called over the past 4 weeks, have taken the case to find this girl? Undoubtedly, he would have found her by now. He and his crew would have taken her back to the ones who are looking for her--her family.
What would Dog do?

Dog the Bounty Hunter: Dog's Fans Go On Offense, A Rally, Petitions, Pineapples and a Boycott
0 comments
Dog the Bounty Hunter's fans are playing offense with the A&E Network. Dismayed over A&E's pulling of "Dog the Bounty Hunter", fans are letting the network know just exactly how they feel about the decision.
Petitions to reinstate the show are circulating all over the Internet. There are six listed at the end of this story. If you haven't registered your support for the Bounty Hunter, there's no time like the present.
The DBKP petition will be sent off to the Art & Entertainment Network in a little over three days. The same petition is posted at a couple other locations. All three will be consolidated and sent in one long email to A&E, along with any comments by the signers.
We are also going to be following up with a phone call to A&E to make sure the right person received it and to gauge any reactions.
If there's a spare pineapple around the house, you might consider sending it to A&E as a statement of support for the Dog. Or you might send a fresh one along.
More information on this novel approach from "Pineapple Drive to Save Dog the Bounty Hunter":
As Fans of Dog the Bounty Hunter and Duane "Dog" Chapman we feel that we have no choice but to fight for what we believe in and that's for Dog. We sprang into action the moment news of him being pulled from A&E's television schedule hit the airways. This never should have happened. There is one thing that no one counted on: the fans. We are many and loyal to Dog, no matter what. All we want is our Dog back on television where he belongs so his message of second chances can be heard. That's why we're sending thousands of pineapples to A&E.
The idea of sending pineapples to A&E came about because we knew that A&E may not listen to phone calls or emails. The only thing that they would get noticed was physical action. By any means necessary is the only thing that we knew would bring Dog the Bounty Hunter back to television.
The message of sending one item to a network has succeeded in the past. The biggest example of this is the television show Jericho, which was to be taken off air. A grassroots network arranged for peanuts to be sent to the network. They succeeded in sending 20 tons of peanuts to the network to make a statement.
A truly new idea in the history of protests by Orato. As one commenter put it:
Austrailian Fan, Lelandisms101I suggest everyone send Pineapples to A&E demanding Dog's return.
Here is their address:
235 EAST 45TH STREET NEW YORK, NY 10017
The fresher the better, but we're not fussy - anything PINEAPPLE...Canned, fresh, juice, just bombard them with Pineapples until they return Dog to our screens.
If 20 tonnes of Peanuts worked to get Jericho back, let them eat pineapples so we can get out Dog back.
Thanks!!!
Dog has his fans Down Under.
We received word of the Dog Rally in NYC on December 13 from a commenter yesterday and post the information and some additional info on how you can participate if you're in the area.
If you're not in the area, December 13 might be a good day to "Pick up the phone for Dog". Let A&E know exactly how you feel about the pulling of the "Dog the Bounty Hunter" show from the line-up.
D Sampson RALLY FOR DOG THE BOUNTY HUNTER DECEMBER 13, 2007 12 NOON A&E Television Networks 235 EAST 45TH STREET NEW YORK,NEW YORK COME AND JOIN IN THIS RALLY FOR DUANE DOG CHAPMAN AND HIS POSSE-BRING DOG THE BOUNTY HUNTER BACK TO TELEVISION. Do not let a television network and it’s sponsors dictate to people what they are going to watch without asking the viewers or checking the ratings first.
DOG THE BOUNTY HUNTER WAS A&E’S TOP RATED SHOW! We the people, the fans, made that happen-Lets do it again!!!!!! DOG CHAPMAN IS AN ICON-BIGGER THEN LIFE. DOG CHAPMAN HAS THE RIGHT TO PRIVACY, AS WE ALL DO! FIGHT FOR THAT RIGHT,FIGHT FOR THE RIGHT FOR DOG THE BOUNTY HUNTER TO RETURN TO TELEVISION.

More from Dog Supporter on the rally: As well as the protest in NY, December 13th will be National/Global Dog day! There’s so many people that can’t get to the protest that would like to, so lets get the word around that on December 13th whilst the protest is on, everyone either wears their Dog shirt, or something to do with the Dog, or contacts A&E on: (212) 210-9018
Everyone can help out… even if they can’t be in New York - tell A&E to look out of the window at the protest outside their gates!!!
If you dont have a Dogshirt for that day, you can order one easily at

Also, from Dog Supporter, information on how to join the Yum Brands BoycottYum Brands pulled all their ads from Dog The Bounty Hunter and helped force AE to cancel the show. Today we are beginning a boycott of ALL Yum Brands till they agree to back of their boycott of AE because of Dog and agree to advertise on Dog’s show again. Yum Fast Food companies are, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Kentucky, A&W, Long John Silvers and Wingstreets. It will show them how much we miss Dog and hurt them in their business, which hopefully force them to do the right thing and get back to supporting Dog and his crew. Dog has helped a lot of people and done a lot of good work. Its time to move on, forgive and get him back to work. Not only will you help Dog, you will probably help your health avoiding this companies high calorie junk food.
Check out the site for information on who to write at Yum Brands. If pressure is put on Yum Brands, their pressure on A&E will carry a lot of weight.

Dog the Bounty Hunter has many fans. They find a champion to present their case in the form of Ms. K., the author. DBKP had this and it got caught in our "Dog Lays Low Weekend".
The weekend's now over, and we can uncork this story. K. Gilreath lays out every known Dog argument--and a few we hadn't heard before--as she examines the "Dog Issue" from every conceivable angle.
Part rant, part inquisition, and part legal document in the court of public opinion, it provides a narrative of sorts for the discerning Dog aficionado. We present it largely in it's original form, to preserve its "flavor". It serves as a call to action for all fans of the Bounty Hunter.
It first appeared in Hawaii Reporter.
It now appears here.
"Dog the Bounty Hunter - Let's Get Critical"Now that the furor's died down some, I feel more comfortable making some observations about Duane "Dog" Chapman's situation. Just like puzzling a Rubix Cube, puzzling this one out is frustrating.
Part One.
Let's start at the start:
The National Enquirer released a 2-minute version of Dog Chapman's phone convo with his son Tucker. Labeling it a "racist tirade." Later on, they released a 5-minute or so version of it. I haven't been treated to the "long" or "full" 8-minute version I'm told is out there, and I don't want to be. Because it's yet another version.
Websters Dictionary defines the word version as follows:
Version- n. *1: Translation. *2: An account or description from a particular point of view especially as contrasted with another. *3: A form or variant of a type or original.
I'd say definitions 2 and 3 both apply here to what's been offered as proof of racism. With definition 1 being reserved for the court of public opinion.
So Dog Chapman apologizes same day and starts down the road to taking his lumps. Starting with A&E pulling his show entirely until further notice. Over a private conversation, labeled with the inflammatory phrase 'racist tirade' and released in versions to the public by National Enquirer.
I don't condone the use of the word "N" word. I'd be a hypocrite to say I've never used a slur, or used it in anger. I defy others to claim that they, in the heat of anger or frustration, haven't used a racial slur, sexist slur, or foul word pertaining to an individual or a group. Whether you realized it or not.
In a court of law, an edited tape, or a 'version' wouldn't get anywhere near a jury. Yet in the court of public opinion, an edited tape plus an inflammatory label is all it takes to pass judgment. Just like the song, this is all some dirty laundry too isn't it? And the National Enquirer has been dishing the 'dirt' by the shovelful. After all, they proved it once right?
Not to me. Yeah, that short clip is pretty damning, but the long version is a bit more enlightening. I got some questions here for folks to ponder with me, misery loves company.
Where did the long version go? Suddenly it's disappeared and the link on TMZ.com only takes me to the shorter, damning version. The one that better fits their label. Oh wait, that's right, it's supposed to be a racist tirade, duh. So with the magic of Google, I found this link - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eisr5taXzX0
The longer version. Here's some thoughts on it. If you haven't heard the longer version, you might want to take a listen. Please, don't take my word for it.
- What's up with the beep at the start?
- What was said before that?
- Was this a tirade? Was it a rant?
- Was it racist? Does the use of the word ni**** alone, make that so?
- Why would he make a distinction between ni**** and a black guy?
- Did he ever directly refer to Monique Shinnery with that word?
- How often have you judged others by the company they keep?
The media has completely overlooked the long version, and a tidbit that struck me like a hammer from the first time I listened to it.
Tucker admitted that his girlfriend Monique Shinnery is friends with a third party. A third party who drives Monique around because she has no car. A third party who likes to sit in front of the house of Tucker's brother -- Duane Lee Chapman -- and call and call and call. Oh and go in and sleep in brother Leland Chapman's house when he's not there. A third party who hangs around the offices and talks to the people who work there. Funny thing is, that's information Tucker offered up and acknowledged, insinuating his brothers and others brought that all on themselves. Implying that this third party is the real troublemaker, not his girlfriend. Who hangs out with her, if she didn't hang out with her, he wouldn't have to tell her not to be dropped off at his home by her, or not to let her in his home. He also said the girl was weird.
Would you be happy about your child's choice under those circumstances? Would you be thrilled to hear behavior like that defended in any way? Would you want your child anywhere near someone who does that? Or near someone, anyone, who condones and befriends a person exhibiting that behavior? Would you get in a car with somebody who does that? Tucker and Monique are obviously aware of it since Tucker offered up the information in that tape. Don't blame my girlfriend; blame my girlfriend's girlfriend and all the time chauffeur. Screw the notion that this third party moonlights as a frightful pest to my brothers (who I also happen to work with) and she hangs around your place of business. Never mind all the other stuff. She's weird.
That doesn't justify Dog Chapman's language, not by any means. No, no, no. It does however explain why he may not have been too thrilled with Tucker's girlfriend Monique in that talk though. To most of us, that's not weird, that's scary.
Ah yeah, the tape, back to that. Got some more questions about that.
- Is it alright to tape private conversations? Not a message left on the answering machine or voicemail, but to actually hook up a recorder and tape talks you have with people. Let's not go near legalities. I mean to you as a person, is that alright with you?
- Is it alright to sell copies of your private talks with others? Forget motive, is there any reason at all you believe it's okay to sell tapes you make of your conversations with others?
- Is an edited or incomplete version of any tape recording proof to you of someone's character?
- Does an edited or incomplete version of a tape recording trump hearsay and rumor when you judge someone's character? Is it 'proof' that the hearsay and rumor is true?
- Do you trust what your children tell you about somebody?
- Have you ever questioned your child's judgment?
- Is the language somebody uses regularly a measure of their character, and their worth?
- When you look at others, have you ever judged them by how they look or dress?
- Is it alright to be judged for something you say in a moment of anger or duress?
- Is it alright for your job to be threatened because of the people you hang out with?
- Is it alright for your job to be threatened if the actions of people you hang out with are suspect or they're a nuisance at your workplace?
- Is it alright to lose your job for what you say in private? Or for how you speak to your children? Or for how you speak or behave in private (minus criminal acts) period?
Part 2
Let's move on to the "apology tour":
Thankfully, it was short.
Christopher Chapman, who also admitted on Larry King Live that he sold his own dad out for money to the National Inquirer, got out on national TV and defended his father by admitting to doing a really crappy thing that he was sorry for? Out of all the kids, you'd think Christopher would be the last to go to bat for his dad, but he was the one next to him.
- Did you just think or say "If that was my kid I'd.?"
- Did anybody listen to what Christopher had to say about how the process of dishing dirt to scandal rags works? They strap you to a lie detector and grill you about the person you're dishing dirt on. An inconclusive test is good enough for what you have to say to be printed. It was in his case.
- Did you know that lie detector tests are almost always inadmissible in court? That they're only a tool for the police to determine where to go with their investigations?
- Is National Enquirer a law enforcement agency? If so, would that be moral law?
Then there's the almighty Dr. Phil. Who held a whole show to address Dog's 'racist tirade' and racism. What a show. Conspicuously absent were Dog Chapman, Monique and her boyfriend Tucker. Her mother got out in front for that one. However, on CNN's "Larry King Live," Dr. Phil himself said he didn't believe Dog Chapman to be a racist, and he also objected to private things being made public.
On to Fox News.
When Dog Chapman faced her on camera, on Hannity & Colmes, Monique Shinnery was smiling. Not smiling, grinning under the National Enquirer banner.
- Why is it that instead of accepting that apology, she stated how she's never been in trouble and he's a bad role model?
- Why, after the release of the tape, would they expect Dog Chapman to call them directly and apologize?
- Would you call them?
- Have you ever met anybody, who is being threatened, who is being victimized, who has been judged unfairly, who is under duress, whose reputation has been and is being smeared, whose everything is jeopardized, and they are facing the person that did all that. all of which Monique Shinnery claims Dog Chapman is guilty of. Do they grin for it?
- Would you be smiling?
Duane Dog Chapman wasn't.
Also I forget where it was said, but her claim that she never wears a tank top was unnecessary. In that recording, the long version, Dog repeatedly said that Beth was wearing a tank top on the day they planned to jump her.
Oops.
Yet through it all was the Reverend Tim Storey. Why would he, Dog' Chapman's preacher, a black man, risk his neck -- you know -- his reputation, his credibility, and possibly his life -- to defend Dog Chapman? Not only defend him, but rip on him on national TV about his potty mouth.
- I've never seen a racist do that, have you?
Part 3Some general questions:
- Where's the A&E crew member to back up the accusation of racism?
- Where's the errant video clip the producers or director edited out?
- Where's the crew people who quit because Dog Chapman and crew were fake and racists?
- Where's the rest of the kids? Not the ones you see on TV, but the rest of Dog Chapman's children.
- Where's the ex wives and ex girls or guys of the rest of the kids? Including the ones you see on TV.
- Where's all the cons that Dog's arrested coming out and saying 'he called me a (insert slur of choice here)?
- Where's the US Marshall that heard one of them slip and call them a nasty name under their breath?
- Where's the fan that got an earful when they weren't watchful out and about someplace?
- Where's the airline employees who heard some distasteful things or were treated badly?
- Why didn't Tucker file a wrongful termination suit against his father and former employer?
- Why hasn't Tucker Chapman said a word? His girlfriend's gotten out in front, so has her mother. So where is he? If he's so offended and feels so bad that his family won't accept his love interest, where is this guy? He's the one that made the tape, sold it and gave the talk to National Enquirer, where is he?
- Where are the friends of these two star crossed lovers? Why haven't they come out and spoken out about how badly the two have been treated by Dog Chapman?
They're not out on the message boards or airwaves defending them or Tucker's actions, not even when the matter was at its height. Is that because they're going to sue and the lawyer said shut up? Her mother is a great person, but she's her mother, where's everybody else?
- Where are the lawyers for this girl and her mom? Or Tucker? So far I haven't heard of any attorneys stepping up or announcing they're representing them.
It's been awhile and the only folks who've crawled from the woodwork to slam Dog Chapman since versions of the "N"-word tape have come out are . An ex-wife, an ex-girlfriend, a woman who claims to be his ex-girlfriend and dealer (while he's been married to Beth, friends with Reverend Storey, and under the watchful eye of A&E cameramen no less). Oh, and his son Tucker, and Tucker's girlfriend Monique. Their ugly tales of racism, sex, drugs, violence, and so on have been reprinted by National Enquirer for your consumption. In case you weren't convinced y'know?
I mean come on now. There's money to be made here to slam Dog Chapman. Where is everybody?
Perhaps a little more convincing was CourtTV. Yup, even CourtTV got on the bandwagon. I would find their coverage more credible had they addressed more the issue of private conversations made public, you know, rights. Reasonable expectations and all that. It is after all supposed to be a channel devoted to legal things. Oh wait, I forgot! CourtTV has their own bounty hunter show too. They even advertised their bounty girls with a commercial how their crew are no dogs.
Well at least something about all this is obvious huh?
Final Thoughts.
Like the chorus of Don Henley's "Dirty Laundry" - "kick 'em when they're up, kick 'em when they're down." It's not the first time those tales were told. Of course now folks are paying attention since there's some "proof." Proof of what though, is in the mind and opinion of the beholder.
I have more questions than I do answers or proof, of anything. Even in the so-called proof that he is racist, there's just as much and more proof that Dog Chapman's not racist IMO. What I do know, and what this is all proof of, is that this is wrong on many levels and in many ways. Our own prejudices and eagerness to be politically correct and show how we're "good" people; are all being used to divide us further. Go over to TMZ.com and try to count how many times the word trash alone has been used on the MB's in reference to all the people in question. For the sake of scandal, outrage, ratings, sales, and fast cash.
Never mind destroying a man and his family's spirit and reputation, that's incidental.
You don't have to condone Dog Chapman's language. You don't have to like him, his look, or anything about him. You don't even have to like his show. Making anybody's business public, for the sake of 'exposure' and judgment, is wrong, period. Especially when it is served up incomplete and in versions.
Personal business isn't the 99-cent value menu at Wendy's, but it's on its way to being just as cheap. It's wrong and erodes everybody's right to privacy or a reasonable expectation of it. To do so for profit, for the sake of being outraged or to outrage, politically correct, or for gain, is just as bad and worse than any single word can be.
It also makes it that much easier for somebody who doesn't like you to do the same. Words are one thing, actions are another. Yet even in the words--including the insensitive ones--there's some proof to me that the label is wrong.
Dog Chapman's subsequent actions: his behavior on TV, his freely admitting to what a monster he used to be, his immediate apology and his prime time apologies; all weigh heavily in his favor.
The word racist is a label that doesn't stick. The most appropriate questions there are to be asked are the ones that the media and others haven't asked:
Are any tape recorded statements made of private discussions really any business of the public?
Maybe you feel Dog Chapman's been treated unfairly for what should have been a private matter, or you don't believe he's racist, or maybe you're on the fence. Do something. If you feel cheated out of your right to decide, or that corporate sponsors are dictating your decisions to you, do something.
Let A&E and it's sponsors know how you feel. Demand his show be restarted. Call, email, sign the petitions on the net. Contact the sponsors and their franchises. Gripe to the managers and corporate relations people: refuse to buy what they sell.
Besides, there's just as good and better fish n chips, Mexican fare, fried chicken, and pizza at locally owned establishments - who will definitely appreciate your intelligence and your business enough to refrain from making your decisions for you.
WHY?
* 1: Because the laws are incomplete and enforced sporadically. Especially where the Internet is concerned. So this can be done to anybody.
* 2: If you wouldn't want what you say in your home or on the phone put out there as proof of 'what you really are' then this is a way to send that message.
* 3: If you don't think it is right to lose your job and reputation, over a something said or done on tape, minus criminal acts, then this is a way to send that message.
* ** Don't think that can't happen, the Internet is global and mostly anonymous. Technology makes it easy to get audio and video, and with YouTube, MySpace, and P2P sites all over the globe, it's not hard to show it off. Got an angry ex? Better close the blinds and stay off the phone.
* 4: If you feel cheated out of your right to decide what you watch on TV, or even cheated out of the right to not watch, then this is a way to send that message. Since when is it up to a television network and it's sponsors to dictate to people what they are going to watch without asking the viewers or checking the ratings first?
Last reason: the man said he was sorry and that he would change. If Dog Chapman's truly contrite he will, and the proof will be beamed right there into your living room from a source with more credibility and reputation than National Enquirer.
Oh don't worry: the Enquirer and other ragmags will be on the lookout for the 'dirt' - so if he slips, everybody is going to know. Dog Chapman is a public figure and a pop culture icon. As such, he is in a position to do more for race relations and healing the rifts between people in America than Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson ever dreamed.
And he'll probably do it with better language this time around.

Dog the Bounty Hunter: A&E Canceled Handicapped Kids' Dreams As Well As Bounty Hunter's Show
0 comments
Dog the Bounty Hunter's good side was always apparent for his many fans--if emails and comments to recent stories are any guide. But that side of Duane "Dog" Chapman was also apparent to a 15-year-old handicapped boy who got his wish to meet the Dog recently.
Dog's soft heart showed through his rough exterior for Judi McLeod of the Canada Free Press. Read her excellent article about Dog making a handicapped boy's wish come true in "A&E Kills The Dreams of Handicapped Youngsters by Pulling Bounty Hunter Off the Air". As she put it:[L[ost in this latest chapter is what Duane Chapman the man really is: generous to a fault and an inspiration to people who rarely find it elsewhere.
The story relates how Dog chipped in to help make the lad's life a little happier.
This time last year, television’s celebrated bounty hunter was making wishes come true for 15-year-old Steve Eltz, who after a long history of surgery and medical procedures, including treatment for cerebral palsy, hydrocephalus, seizures and orthopedic problems, got to meet his hero, Dog the Bounty Hunter.
Steve’s tale is the story of a perpetually playful lad, who’d much sooner be down at the local creek catching tadpoles with his pal D.J. than back in hospital for yet another operation. It is the story of a youngster under the most discouraging of circumstances still trying to tease his sister, Laura when he thinks she could use a little cheering up.In any case, with setbacks that would discourage even the most courageous of adults, Steve Eltz, kept alive the dream of someday, somehow meeting face-to-face with his hero.
The rest of this great story is at the Canada Free Press. Steve, despite his physical ailments got to meet his hero, Dog the Bounty Hunter.
“Dog the Bounty Hunter has been Steven’s hero for ages,” said his Mom Barbara Eltz. “And it’s noteworthy that it was really the repeated failure of the shunt that controls his hydrocephalus that led to his neurosurgeon completing an application for the Make-A-Wish process.”
So when the Make-A-Wish Foundation offered to grant Steven any wish he wanted, you can be sure it was to meet Dog the Bounty Hunter. Not only did young Steven get to meet Dog face-to-face, he made a new friend for life in the Dog-admiring, 7-year-old DJ.
In an imagination fired up by long lonely hours in his room, Steven was no longer confined to a wheelchair but out there catching the bad guys with Dog.
Since Steven loves everything about Dog the Bounty Hunter, it came as no surprise that Dog’s wife, Beth is Steven’s all-time favourite poster girl.
“Beth--I have a crush on her!” Steven `fessed up soon as Dog was introducing him to the cast.
Dog of the big-as-Texas heart, laughingly put the suitor into an instant “headlock’. Worries about his next operation flew out the window, as Steven became a suitor taken seriously.
But Steve might be the last. A&E canceled Dog the Bounty Hunter, but they also canceled the chances of other Steves to make their wish come true.
Maybe Arts and Entertainment will change their minds. A lot of handicapped children might wish for that also.
As the furor over the whole affair begins to subside, the only voices we hear are the ones of the Dog's many fans. We hear them everyday in the hundreds of comments they leave and the emails they write. They pretty much speak with one voice.
And that voice is saying, "Bring back the Dog".

[NOTE: DBKP has been letting our Dog coverage dampen down a bit over the weekend. It seems that the Bounty Hunter is laying low. We figured that wasn't a bad move. But we saw this story and thought it was as good a place to start back up for this week of Thanksgiving. Dog's fans hope they have one more thing to be thankful for come Thursday.]
