IS this really lost footage from Edwards' Nightline appearance? Or is it what he would have said--if there were no consequences for his actions?

Watch and decide.

Sure to be a classic.

Edwards Casts Aspersions at More than the Enquirer during ABC Interview

John Edwards

John Edwards has now officially been put on notice.

The family of Rielle Hunter wants Edwards to put up or shut up.

UPDATES to follow at the end of story, throughout August 9, 2008.
UPDATE #1 - 1345 EDT August 9 2008 - Class Action?
UPDATE #2 - pending

After a televised interview with the ex-presidential candidate painted everyone, including his unnamed mistress Rielle Hunter as somehow sinister. Edwards, caught leaving the Beverly Hilton after a meeting with the Enquirer's reporters on July 22 also took shots at unnamed "supermarket tabloids."

The Enquirer published it's response to Edwards by labeling his interview a "confession". [JOHN EDWARDS ADMITS AFFAIR!]

As far as being the father of Hunter's love child, you might as well go all the way now, Johnny Boy.

Submit to a DNA test.

NOW, ABC News is reporting that the Mistress' Family Challenges Edwards to Take DNA Test.

Hunter's sister, Melissa, has been reported by ABC News in an Enquirer-type sub-headline as saying, "'Stop Bad-Mouthing My Sister'".

ABC also quoted Hunter's sister as saying, "Somebody must stand up and defend my sister," she said. "I wish that those involved would refrain from bad-mouthing my sister,"--not naming Edwards, in the same way he avoided naming Rielle Hunter in his ABC appearance.

"Ironically, now, its John Edwards who's the one making allegations," wrote one reader, "without offering any more proof than his word--and he's shown how much we can all trust that."

UPDATE #1: 1345 EDT Class Action against Edwards?

Ted Frank at Overlawyered wonders, "Where's a trial lawyer when you need one?" [Yes, I’m being facetious]:

Where’s the trial lawyer bringing a class action on behalf of all of the people who were defrauded when they gave money to John Edwards’s presidential campaign? It’s certainly a much more plausible claim of causation, reliance, and financial injury than the typical class action.

If Frank were the prosecutor in the court of public opinion, Edwards' interview would get 30 days in the electric chair.

"Alas, ABC didn’t ask the right follow-up questions, such as how Edwards thought meeting Hunter in a hotel room would help keep the story quiet."

Frank has other penetrating questions for Edwards. We'll let him present them.

DBKP Exclusive!
An Inside Look at How the National Enquirer
Scooped the Mainstream Media

In the John Edwards-Rielle Hunter Investigation

How did the supermarket checkout staple, The National Enquirer, scoop the combined forces of CNN, CBS, ABC, NBC, Fox News, Time Magazine, Newsweek, USA Today, New York Times and the rest of the mainstream press in the John Edwards-Rielle Hunter Love Child affair?

"Inquiring minds want to know."

After an hour-long interview with David Perel, Editor-in-Chief of the National Enquirer, we can now say with certainty: it was easy. The steadfast "cone of silence" placed on the story by the Mainstream Media made it easy for anyone willing to do the legwork to grab the story from a decidedly-uninterested "respectable" press.

Perel, who was promoted to Editor-in-Chief of the Enquirer in 2005, has overseen the John Edwards Scandal investigation from the very start and provided DBKP with some interesting insights on Edwards, the Love Child Scandal and the Mainstream Media.

Mondoreb: Hi David, congratulations on the National Enquirer's scoop of the mainstream press--again.

David Perel: Thank you. It was nice to finally have the "smoking gun".

Mondo: This story has been on-going over the last--what--ten months?

DP: Yes, something like that. Certainly, it's taken some time.

Mondo: Do you feel vindicated by the latest turn of events in the John Edwards Love Child Story--after the Enquirer's reporters cornered Edwards in the Beverly Hilton?

DP: Absolutely. We'd gotten information and tips that Edwards was seeing Rielle Hunter and the baby. On Monday, we got some good intel that there was going to be a meeting at the Beverly Hilton hotel and we got the information in time to get everyone in place when it happened. We had a big team on it.

Mondo: I seem to remember that back in December, when the Enquirer broke the second installment of the Edwards scandal, that you had seven reporters working on the story then. How many did you have at the Beverly Hilton this time?

DP: There were seven on this story, also.

[NOTE: Presumably, they were all in optimum positions, as Edwards ran into not only two Enquirer reporters trying to make his escape from the hotel, but at least one Enquirer photographer, as well.]

Mondo: It's been over ten months since the Enquirer broke the Edwards scandal; seven-plus months since the December story that named Rielle Hunter as the "other woman" and showed her visibly pregnant. What was the Enquirer doing in the last seven months that the major press organizations could have been doing, but didn't, that allowed you scoop them?

DP: We stayed on the story. We did it the old-fashioned way, with lots of legwork. We did what the major news organizations used to do: we knocked on doors, ran down leads and talked to people.

Mondo: Why do you think the "major news organizations" didn't do this?

DP: I think it was a matter of interest. We knew--even though we couldn't reveal them--that our sources were credible. We fact-checked their stories and they checked out. It was a giant puzzle and we started fitting the pieces together. But, we were interested in fitting them together; in doing the checking, the groundwork.

I think with all of the cut-backs the other news organizations has suffered, many of them may not have had the man-power or the resources to do what we did. It was a major commitment on our part to continue and stay on the story.

"At least three-dozen daily newspapers in the United States published the Craig news the day after the Roll Call scoop [on Sen. Larry Craig's foot-tapping troubles in a Minnesota men's room stall], according to Nexis, but this morning not a single U.S. daily mentioned the Enquirer piece."
--Jack Schaeffer, Slate: Why the Press Is Ignoring the Edwards "Love Child" Story, A Double Standard at Work

Mondo: Have you ever seen a more blatant--what we've called it--"media blackout" of any story the Enquirer has broken than the Edwards affair?

DP: No. Amazing, simply amazing. It wasn't a total blackout, but very nearly.

Mondo: Why do you think this was?

DP: A couple of things: partly a lack of ability and partly a lack of desire.

Mondo: Do you think it might have anything to do with the fact that reporters on the regular campaign beat get too "comfortable"? Maybe they're afraid of offending whoever they're assigned to cover; who is really their meal-ticket?

DP: Absolutely. It's a flaw in the system and certainly a flaw in the coverage.

What would it have taken for a reporter to stick a microphone in Edwards' face and ask him to confirm or deny certain details of the story we broke in December? What would it take for a reporter to stick a microphone in his face now and ask him to deny or confirm he was in the Beverly Hilton? What was he doing visiting Rielle Hunter there?

Edwards is supposedly on the list for vice-presidential candidates. Look at Edwards actions, his involvement with the cover-up, the size of the cover-up. It shows a bit of his character. People might not want someone that close to the presidency.

Mondo: If they knew about it...

DP: Yes.

Mondo: What were some of the difficulties in the Edwards investigation?

DP: The cover-up by the campaign, the scope of the cover-up.

I can tell you it was not easy locating Rielle Hunter. A couple times it was very hard finding out where she had moved. It took a lot of time, effort and resources.

Mondo: You were in contact with the Edwards campaign in December about the story. Did you give them a chance to respond to it before it came out?

DP: Yes.

Mondo: And they didn't?

DP: There was no official response from the campaign or its lawyers.

Mondo: The National Enquirer's record on breaking political scandals is pretty solid. What do you say to your detractors; the ones who dismiss anything you uncover with a "Well, it's in the Enquirer".

DP: Our detractors don't read the magazine. The ones who read it know we get it right.
Mondo: Isn't it just a way of avoiding having to address the facts; to attack the Enquirer?

DP: It's like reviewing a book you've never read. Or like, who was it, Maxim reviewing an album they'd never listened to.

Mondo: There was some rumblings about the first and second Love Child stories being the products of the Clinton camp. One of the Clinton backers has a share of your parent company, I believe. Any comments?

DP: It has nothing to do with the editorial side, which I run. They could say that back in December when Clinton was still in the race, but now, she's supposed to be uniting the Democrats behind Obama. So, it doesn't make much sense.

We follow the story, not the man. We cover both sides. We broke Rush Limbaugh's Oxycontin troubles, we did Jesse Jackson's love child and we broke a lot of the news in the OJ story. It's nothing personal--it's the story.

Mondo: You have more updates planned on this latest installment?

DP: We'll be updating the story several times. We're not finished yet.

Mondo: Any other comments?

DP: We were looking for the "smoking gun": time, place, day and date. Edwards could always "deny, deny, deny". Now, Edwards can't deny being at the Beverly Hilton and visiting Rielle Hunter. There were at least 10 eyewitnesses to the affair of Edwards running on the stairs and ducking into the restroom. I'm proud of the story. It speaks for itself.

Mondo: Congratulations on your scoop and thanks for talking with me.

DP: Any time. Keep in touch.

[A few other subjects were covered, some off-the-record and some on.]

Hillary Wins Big In O'Reilly Interview

Nancy Morgan
Right Bias.com
May 1 2008

Hillary Clinton appeared on The O'Reilly Factor last night, finally facing off with Bill O'Reilly in the No-Spin Zone. Judge Napolitano described it as the "toughest interview she's ever had."

Hillary was pretty in pink with nary a crease in her smiling face. She was cool, calm and collected as she answered all the hard questions lobbed at her by tough interviewer Bill O'Reilly. Questions like, "Are you surprised Fox News has treated your campaign in a fair and balanced manner?" Hard one. Giggle, giggle.

O'Reilly then moved on to the Rev. Wright/Obama situation. Hillary fielded this tough question by saying unequivocally, "I take offense. I don't believe the US government caused the AIDS crisis." Hillary scored big by finally declaring what most of America already knows. Talk about speaking truth to power.

On to the next hardball question. When asked how much she would raise taxes, Hillary stuck to her deeply held belief that the rich, herself included, were not taxed enough. Her policy as president would be to up the taxes on the rich in order to give it to the "hardworking middle-class, who get up every morning and keep the country running." Boy, its tough getting up in the morning when one is middle-class. Bill didn't mention that the rich get up every morning also. And neglected to point out that all those hardworking middle class guys were working at jobs provided by all those rich geeks. Who keeps the country running, again?

The pundits are describing this morning how O'Reilly really pinned Hillary down on her oil policy. If you actually saw the interview, you could see quite clearly that the score then was Hillary: 3, O'Reilly: 0. He did manage to bring up the fact that Hillary has voted down nuclear power seven times. Hillary skated, unchallenged (Hill 4, O'Reilly 0) with her most amazing statements of the whole interview. "We (meaning all us guys in fly-over country) will have to change the way we behave." In other words, Hillary will now set the standards of behavior to which Americans will have to conform.

She then burnished her tough guy creds by passionately demanding that oil companies be "held accountable" and "there is no basis for their profits". Since profit is now regarded as a dirty word, this statement, too, went unchallenged. Also unmentioned was the fact that the government takes .48 cents in gas taxes while the oil companies settle for .09 cents.

O'Reilly, to his credit, said her redistribution policies smacked of socialism. Hill, taking a page from the liberal 'debate' book, skirted the issue by pointing to FDR, as if his socialism justified hers. She got away with it, too. Then O'Reilly let skate the most astonishing piece of spin I've ever heard. "Rich people deserve all the opportunity to see that the next generation does well." Well, who are we to deny the rich the opportunity to be taxed to death in order to pay for failed government programs. Not Bill O'Reilly.

Hillary mentioned several times the need for accountability. Bill O'Reilly missed out big time on this issue. Hillary's claim that she has been 'vetted' has been accepted by O'Reilly. No need to ask any questions about Travelgate (perjury), Whitewater (fraud), making $99,000 and change from a $1,000 investment (bribery, fraud), the fact that she received 99.9% of the vote from a small community after hubby Bill dished out pardons for their terrorists members (bribery, vote fraud), the Vince Foster 'suicide' (conspiracy), her proven complicity in illegal Chinese cash (bribery, treason), the FBI files she probably still has after the former bouncer she hired, Craig Livingston, was given a vital security job in the Clinton White House (blackmail). Not to mention her complicity and active participation in the hundreds of scandals hubby Bill was involved in.

You can't fault O’Reilly, I guess. No-one, with the exception of Reed Irvine of Accuracy in Media, and Chris Ruddy of Newsmax, has ever followed up on the documented evidence that shows without a doubt the corruption and amorality of Hillary. Documented evidence that would put a lesser mortal in the slammer.

Even conservatives have refused to publish the real Hillary scandals. Possibly for fear of losing their credibility by being branded part of the vast right-wing conspiracy. This remains a puzzle to me to this day.

Hillary is one smart cookie. Under that Dorian Gray exterior, she is ruthless, determined and has shown she will go to any lengths in her quest for power. The real danger is the fact that, unlike Bill Clinton, Hillary is, and has been her whole life, a dedicated socialist/Marxist. She is a true believer. She has a vision of the world, one that has already been tried and proven disastrous, that includes her as President, with her hands on the levers of power. Power to destroy capitalism in favor of her version of utopia. Knowing that, since man, not God, is responsible for the state of the world, man (Hillary) will finally be able to establish utopia.

Despite the fact that every effort she has made to date has met with resounding failure. And the American citizens have been left to pick up the tab.

Another issue O'Reilly never brought up.

DBKP Journeys to Center of the Weird News World

DBKP INTERVIEWS Fark founder, Drew Curtis, in which we find out about Fark past, present and future--and the squirrel.

Google "Weird News websites" and you get back over 1 million references. But veteran weird news junkies know they can always get their fix at FARK.com, the king of the off-beat news sites.

Drew Curtis is the pusher.

Founded in 1997, Fark.com churns out a never-ending stream of entertaining headlines about strange stories linked to an eclectic collection of sources: Reuters, CNN, ABC News, as well as blogs and local TV stations.

FAST FARK FACT:
It's not Fark, It's million of FARKers:
By January 2008, according to Curtis, the site received an estimated 62 million page views per month from 4 million unique visitors.

As an article in Rolling Stone put it:

When heavy rains flooded Dongting Lake in the Hunan province, CNN reported the event under the headline CHINA DESPERATE FOR BREAK IN THE WEATHER. But over at Fark.com, the best skewed news site on the Net, they ran the link with a different take: SWELLING DONGTING PRESSES AGAINST GROANING DIKE.

"For me, the tag line is more important than an article," says Fark founder Drew Curtis. "If the tag line is funny, it trumps everything else."

Just scanning those skewed headlines--prepared by Curtis and his crack team of smart-ass administrators--has the power to turn any reader into a conversational giant in most offices.

Okay, at least in our office.

A few headlines from the past week included:

RECENT FARK HEADLINES:
* "And the Daily Dumbass Award goes to: The drug-trafficking brothers who flagged down a police car by mistake, and are now on the run. On horseback. In Fiji"
--tagged "Dumbass" on YahooNews story

* "The intellectual path to atheism in a nutshell: "I rejected Christianity largely because it would not have allowed me to continue getting drunk and high every night while splitting time between four girlfriends."
--tagged "Obvious" on a story from Townhall.com

* "Convicted child molester claims he was molested by Bigfoot as a kid"
--tagged "Unlikely"

* "Britney Spears linked to rise of foreclosures. LEAVE BRITNEY A LOAN"
--tagged as "Amusing" on LA Times story

Fark present

We've always had questions about FARK. Recently, DBKP's Mondoreb and LBG had a chance to sit down (in the blogosphere sense of the word) with Drew, who provided some answers.

And Curtis was candid.

MONDOREB: Welcome to DBKP, Drew. We've been looking forward to this chat, so let's do it.

DREW CURTIS: Cool. Sounds like fun.

MONDO: You would think everyone's heard of FARK, but they haven't. How would you descibe FARK to someone who is totally unaware of the website and how it operates?

DC: What if the Daily Show ran the Drudge Report?

We're a news aggregator selecting for humor. If that doesn't help anyone who is totally unaware of Fark, they need to get off the Internet.

MONDO: How many links does FARK get in an average day? Does it drive the administrators crazy? Does all the strange news links give them a skewed, jaded view of the world?

DC: 2500 [links per day], and the reason it's that low is because we reject duplicates. It doesn't drive us crazy per se. I don't have much of a jaded view either, I figure it's not that the world is getting stupider, it's that media coverage (of how stupid we already are) is better.

The thing that does drive me nuts though is when I pull up cnn.com or another "real" news site and see nothing but Fark articles. I feel the same way when I go to TGIFridays and try to find healthy food on the menu--there isn't any.

LITTLE BABY GINN: What's up with the super-masculine squirrel on the 404 page? Where'd he come from? It's rumored that he was the only thing on FARK for a couple years. Is he like a member of the family?

DC: It was completely random.

The day I reserved the Fark.com domain name in 1997, a friend of mine sent me that pic. I've since talked to the actual photographer, it's a real picture.

Fark mainstay

MONDO: Of all the entirely-strange and unusual stories on FARK over the years, what's the strangest one you remember?

Creator/Writer/Artist of "The Infidel"
Featuring the Anti-Jihad Hero, Pigman

We sat down with Bosch Fawstin, the creator/writer/artist behind the upcoming graphic novel, "The Infidel".

"The Infidel" introduces a new kind of hero--an anti-Jihadi named Pigman. Pigman fights the forces of Jihad terror in America and wherever he finds it.

Bosch was kind enough to fill us in on some of the finer points concerning "The Infidel", Pigman, his earlier graphic novel, "Table for One" and what's happening in the life of a graphic novel creator who takes on the decidedly non-Politically Correct subject of fighting jihad.

UPDATE: 3 pm February 18, 2008
Some additional material, as well as corrections and additions of several factual errors noticed by both DBKP and Bosch Fawtin are included.

Read it now with complete confidence that you are among the best-informed on the subject of Pigman and "The Infidel" that exists in the blogosphere.

[NOTE: While we always remind readers to "Click on images to enlarge them", we want to make it a point on this interview. The Bosch Fawstin illustrations are great when they're full-screen.

Just so you'll not say "You never told us!"]

PLACE: The DBKP Interview Room
WHO: Creator/writer/artist Boshch Fawstin, DBKP's Mondoreb and Little Baby Ginn

MONDOREB: Hi Bosch and thanks for coming and giving us a chance to talk about "The Infidel"

BOSCH FAWSTIN: Hi Mondo, Ginn. Thank you very much for this opportunity to get the word out about The Infidel/Pigman.

MONDO: Great! Let's get to it.

GINN: What specifically made you decide to get into the anti-jihad comics business? Were you thinking about it before 911 or did the events of 9/11 or the aftermath inspire you?

BOSCH FAWSTIN: For me, there’s before 9/11 and after 9/11 as a human being, as an American artist.

Whatever values I held prior to that day were amplified more than ever and I knew what I would be writing about for the foreseeable future. Being born into a Muslim family made the attack more personal and has added to my desire to create as strong an artistic counter-attack against The Enemy as I can create.

MONDO: Have you gotten any flak from the PC crowd on your themes? Anybody make any threats because of Pigman?

BOSCH FAWSTIN: I’ve gotten the typical thoughtless, emotion-filled responses that I expected, accusing me of being just as extreme as the terrorists.

It’s really an insane accusation that says more about the accuser than anything else.

In their desire to believe ‘Islam means PeaCe’ at all costs, they’ve avoided any and all readily available proof that it is Islam itself behind this jihad, and in place of attacking the truth, they attack the truth tellers.

GINN: That's a mouthful!

BOSCH FAWSTIN: Their frustration lies in the fact that Islam gives them no ammunition whatsoever to defend against those who make the case against Islam through Islam.

We have to accept the uncomfortable fact that Islam is on the side of al Qaeda. It is Islam that aids and abets the enemy, that gives them the pretense that they’re battling evil. It gives them the idea that their objective evil is transfigured as subjective good via Islam. It gives the enemy the emotional, ideological fuel that they require to commit their righteously evil acts.

When Islam’s Muslim and non-Muslim useful idiots can’t defend Islam on Islamic terms, they lash out at those who can condemn Islam on Islamic terms.

It’s perfect in its illogic, this evasion, denial, and avoidance of reality.

And it’s this evasion that has crippled our war effort and has left our hapless leaders in a foggy state of mind where they truly do not know what the hell to say or do against the enemy.

Still, a part of them demands that something be done, likely stemming from fear that we the people would get up in arms if they didn’t, so they continue this half-assed excuse for a war against an emotion called terror, which gives the enemy the edge and hope that so long as they remain undefeated, they’ll win through ‘death by a thousand cuts.’

As to threats, there’ve been a few Muslims who emailed me about how rotten I am for insulting Islam, etc., but I’m not really worried about those who deliver threats through email.

It’s the up close and personal ‘Allahu Akbar!’ that will do that.

MONDO: Emotional subject. Have you considered sending an autographed copy of the Infidel, when it's completed, to the Saudi embassy?

BOSCH FAWSTIN: Oh yeah, and ‘Our friends the Saudis’ will hate me even more for them loving the book.

Pigman is the jihad’s worst nightmare, but I see Mohammed himself as the greatest villain the Middle East has ever known. If not for his influence, that part of the world could’ve had a chance to live in the 21st century and compete with the rest of the world in unwarlike ways.

‘It’s a world where the bad guys won.’ is how the hero of The Infidel, Killian Duke puts it. Their adherence to Islam has retarded their culture; morally, intellectually, spiritually, and so physically.

Pigman himself is of Arabian descent whose given name was Mohammed.

GINN: Any ideas about what graphic novels are to come after the Infidel?

MONDOREB: If it's successful, will it become an ongoing series?

BOSCH FAWSTIN: I’ve got a few planned, ones that I intended to work on after Table for One until 9/11 hit, so those stories have been put on hold until The Infidel is completed.

One is a fantasy, a mind travel story that I’ve had in mind for a long time and that I’ll be good and ready for after saying all I want to say against the enemy through The Infidel.

Initially, The Infidel was intended as a 50 page punch of a book against Jihad, and then it grew bigger and bigger and has finally morphed into two stories in one, with the main story about twin brothers whose Muslim background comes to the forefront of their lives and breaks their bond on 9/11; One brother creating the Pigman comic book and the other fully submitting to Islam and following it to wherever it leads him.

Pigman's nemesis, Super Jihad

GINN: Two stories?

BOSCH FAWSTIN
: The Pigman and SuperJihad story is to be a super version of the twin’s story. From the outset of the project, I wanted to write about the kind of man who would create a Pigman comic book, and go from there about how a post 9/11 PC world would respond to a man like that, but Pigman has really taken on a life of his own.

GINN: Any chance you'll give away any secrets here?

BOSCH FAWSTIN: I know how both stories end, but I don’t know how long it’s going to take to get to the end and that’s fine with me. I am even more turned on by the book than I was when I began, so it could go on for quite a while. And the idea of creating a Pigman series somewhere down the line seems stronger than ever. He may demand it since he’s become a far more interesting character the more I’ve gotten to know him through writing.

MONDOREB: How did "Table for One" do or how is it doing?

Table for One is my first work and my first graphic novel, and it did as good as I expected it to do in the marketplace for a first effort, and I still regularly sell copies of the book through Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble and comic book stores, and even in person at conventions.

Through Table for One I gained the endorsement of my favorite cartoonist of all time, Alex Toth.

It also brought me a ‘Russ Manning Most Promising Newcomer Award’ nomination and an Eisner Award nomination for ‘Talent Deserving of Wider Recognition’. It was as good a welcome into the field as I could imagine.

[EDITOR'S NOTES: Alex Toth (June 25, 1928–May 27, 2006), pronounced with a long “o,” was an acclaimed professional cartoonist active from the 1940s through the 1980s.

Toth’s work began in the American comic book industry, but is best known for his animation designs for Hanna-Barbera throughout the 1960s and 1970s. His work included Super Friends, Space Ghost, The Herculoids, and Birdman. Toth’s work has been resurrected in the late-night, adult-themed spinoffs on Cartoon Network: Space Ghost: Coast to Coast and Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law.

The Will Eisner Comic Industry Award is a prize given for creative achievement in American comic books.

It is named in honor of the pioneering writer and artist Will Eisner, who was a regular participant in the award ceremony until his death in 2005, and includes the comics industry's Hall of Fame. The Eisner Award was created in response to the discontinuation of the Kirby Awards after 1987

GINN: What are your hopes for "The Infidel"? What would have to happen for you to consider it a success?

BOSCH FAWSTIN: My hopes for The Infidel is that I reach my kind of people, those who love the truth and follow it to wherever the hell it goes, No Matter What, and who want to see this enemy crushed once and for all.

I want to sell enough copies of the book to work on it full time with no unnecessary worries on that front. And if it sells well, it will show that there most definitely is a marketplace for a hardcore book of this kind where The Enemy gets it as he deserves and where the American people are the good guys.

It’s only when we fall short of living up to the American Way that we begin to have serious problems and find ourselves weak and unable to defend ourselves in words or deeds.

In other words, ‘Dhimmi Qarter’.

The Infidel will be a realistic book to counter the fantasy we’re living through today via our popular culture, our politicians, our media and our universities, who are not doing their part as Americans on the home front during a time of war.

We’re each and every one of us targeted by Jihad, but that half of us don’t seem to care tells us what that half thinks of themselves, that they’re not worth defending. And they’ve taken that low self-regard and encompassed their own country with it. My book is a corrective in that sense, setting the record straight about what’s really going on, but through an entertaining, dramatic and at times, satiric way.

I think there’s an audience good and ready for a strong response to Jihad. I know this is the book I myself have been waiting for since 9/11.

An awesome display of electronic warfare capabilities by Israel in September sparked a sharp reaction in Russia today. It all may bode ill for Iran tomorrow.

Electronic warfare capabilities reached new heights during the September 9 Israeli attack on Syria. That was the revelation from the November 25 issue of Aviation Week & Space. The revelations apparently touched a nerve somewhere in Russia.

Today Pravda carried a story imparting their own spin to the events described in AW&S, along with an interview with Richard J. Aldrich and an editorial wrap-up that featured a scary prediction.

The article packed an informational punch. The authors of the AW&S piece, David A. Fulghum, Robert Wall and Amy Butler, covered a lot of ground.

Among the highlights were: the elements of the electronic attacks carried out by the Israelis; methods the Israelis used to penetrate Syrian air defenses undetected; an Israeli claim that rejected any link between the Syrian and Iranian nuclear programs; and a rebuttal to that claim by John Bolton.

First, the highlights of the Aviation Week & Space article, "Israel Shows Electronic Prowess".

Elements of the electronic attack:

Elements of the attack included some brute-force jamming, which is still an important element of attacking air defenses, U.S. analysts say. Also, Syrian air defenses are still centralized and dependent on dedicated HF and VHF communications, which made them vulnerable. The analysts don’t believe any part of Syria’s electrical grid was shut down. They do contend that network penetration involved both remote air-to-ground electronic attack and penetration through computer-to-computer links.

“There also were some higher-level, nontactical penetrations, either direct or as diversions and spoofs, of the Syrian command-and-control capability, done through network attack,” says an intelligence specialist.

The penetration by non-stealthy aircraft using electronic means:
That ability of nonstealthy Israeli aircraft to penetrate without interference rests in part on technology, carried on board modified aircraft, that allowed specialists to hack into Syria’s networked air defense system, said U.S. military and industry officials in the attack’s aftermath. Network raiders can conduct their invasion from an aircraft into a network and then jump from network to network until they are into the target’s communications loop. “Whether the network is wireless or wired doesn’t matter anymore,” says a U.S. industry specialist (AW&ST Nov. 5, p. 32; Oct. 8, p. 28; Feb. 19, p. 31). Now development of the technology in Israel is being confirmed.

The links between the various nuclear programs:
Israeli officials reject any suggestion that the Syrian and Iranian nuclear programs were or are linked in any way. “I don’t think Iran knew anything about what Syria was doing,” says a long-serving member of the Israeli parliament with insight into military affairs. “I don’t think they would have told the Iranians. They didn’t need Iranian assistance because they had help from the North Koreans.”

John Bolton disputes that view:
However, John Bolton, former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, disagrees. “I’d be very surprised if the Syrians were to engage at least without Iranian acquiescence,” he says. And, “it may be beyond that,” he tells Aviation Week. Since Syria alone lacks both the funding and expertise for a nuclear weapons program, it would logically turn to Pyongyang for technology and oil-rich Tehran for funding, he says.

Moreover, Bolton says the use of network attack is a clever move by the Israelis. He contends that it will serve as a deterrent for Iran. Or, at the very least, it sends a message that even the advanced, Russian-built air defense systems won’t protect Iran’s nuclear activities.

Next, the Pravda take.

The Russian paper starts out first with a claim that the U.S. provided monitoring assistance during the attack itself.
The U.S. provided Israel with information about Syrian air defenses before Israel attacked a suspected nuclear site in Syria, Aviation Week & Space Technology is reporting in its Nov. 26 edition.

The U.S. was monitoring the electronic emissions coming from Syria during Israel's Sept. 6 attack, and while there was no active American engagement in the operation, there was advice provided, according to military and aerospace industry officials.

The first event in the raid involved Israel's strike aircraft flying into Syria without alerting Syrian air defenses. The ultimate target was a suspected nuclear reactor being developed at Dayr az-Zawr. But the main attack was preceded by an engagement with a single Syrian radar site at Tall al-Abuad near the Turkish border, Aviation Week reports.

Next, Pravda poses several questions concerning the attack to Richard J. Aldrich.
Pravda.Ru has interviewed Professor Richard J Aldrich, Department of Politics and International Studies University of Warwick, to find out more about US interference into the conflict between Israel and Syria.

Pravda.Ru: Can we speak here about the US interference into the conflict between Israel and Syria?

Richard Aldrich: Not really. Intelligence and technical co-operation amongst friendly countries is now so widespread that it is hardly meaningful to talk about 'interference'. Many European countries also exchange intelligence with Israel. Indeed, during the Cold War, Israel even exchanged intelligence with the Soviet Union. Even intelligence rumored to come from Israeli espionage operations inside the United States!

In this case, Aviation Week has made it clear that it was Israeli personnel and units that undertook these electronic operations, not Americans.

However, there are important benefits from this close relationship for both the United States and Israel. Israel clearly benefits from very advanced technological assistance in the area of electronic intelligence and network warfare which may have helped with this operation. Equally, it is likely that the United States received reports on the operational effectiveness of this equipment in return. In short, the operation against Syria would have provided the US military with great opportunities to see the latest secret equipment under "live battle conditions". This is always considered to be invaluable.

Pravda.Ru: It is well-known fact that most part of Syrian strategic objects is operated by Russia. Is there a possibility that it was US intelligence operation against Russia?

Richard Aldrich: Not really. It is unlikely that Russia has given its latest air defense equipment to friendly countries in the Middle East and so the United States would not learn much about current Russian capabilities by looking at Syrian Air Defense. Its more likely that the United States would gather useful intelligence against Syria itself during this operation. The information might also be useful against another regional power operating similar types of equipment.

Pravda.Ru: Can we speak here that this operation will launch a new war in the field of electronic and digital technologies?

Richard Aldrich: Electronic warfare has been around a long time and had already reached quite a level of sophistication during the Second World War. However, the new aspect of this operation was the use of network attacks. It appears that the command and control systems of the Syrian military were directly attacked by Israelis using computers as weapons. This is a specialist form of military hacking. For many years there has been an active debate about how practical and realistic the idea of pure 'network warfare' really is. During the wars in the former Yugoslavia in the 1990s this activity seemed to be limited to fairly trivial "denial of service" attacks.

Finally, the Pravda piece sums up with a scary prediction--especially if you're a Russian military planner or ally.
Now, perhaps we have seen the first live example of the military application of network warfare.

One of the troubling issues with network warfare is that it is hard for the victim to know if they have been attacked - or merely suffered a network failure. Even if they are sure they are being attacked, they can't always tell who is attacking them?

For this reason, Israel's attack on 6 September appears to herald a frightening new era in the realm of electronic warfare.

All this happened in the last couple of days; it's a lot of information.

And it's only the parts that we know.

In the slow season before the primaries, the only thing for pundits to write about are polls, fund-raising, scandals of anyone connected with a particular campaign and endorsements.

Dennis Kucinich, Democrat presidential candidate, received an endorsement of sorts on Friday.
Shirley MacLaine endorsed Kucinisch's UFO sighting. From the Today Show, as reported by the Cleveland Plain Dealer:

Lauer: "You talk about presidents. A guy running for president, Dennis Kucinich, a couple of weeks ago in a debate was asked if he thinks UFOs exist, and he said 'Yes.' Let me mention as a disclaimer, you're the godmother of one of his children, correct? When he said 'Yes,' were you cheering from the sidelines?

MacLaine: "I thought that was terrific that a presidential candidate admitted it. If they had asked Gov. Bill Richardson, he would have, too, because he is the governor of UFOs in New Mexico.
If Bill Richardson's bid for president falls short, he can take consolation in remaining the governor of UFOs.

One hopes there's a good pension plan.

DOG THE BOUNTY HUNTER UPDATES:

SIGN THE SAVE THE BOUNTY HUNTER PETITION

LISTEN to the INTERVIEW: DOG is a "Ticking Bomb"

Dog the Bounty Hunter's thousands of fans now have a chance to be heard. There are petitions popping up all over the internet.

When last we looked there were petitions, like the one below at "Keep Dog on TV", at TMZ and for awhile on CNN at the Larry King Page.

Whether these will sway the powers-that-be at the Arts & Entertainment Network, where the Bounty Hunter held sway, is not known. But if you are a Dog fan, it can't hurt and it gives you a chance to express your opinion.

Thousands upon thousands of Dog fans across the country have poured onto the Internet this week to help rally support to help return "Dog the Bounty Hunter" back to the airwaves.

One thing is for sure, the support for the Bounty Hunter seems to be in the 85-90% range. That's 9-1 in favor of the show returning.

And the support cuts across racial lines. Of the many comments and letters received at this site alone, the support among non-whites is nearly as great as the white Dog Fans.

Most fans are basically saying the same thing.

"We know Dog's a little rough around the edges. He's lived a hard life and tried to provide for his family. He shouldn't have said what he said, but it was private and if you listen to the tapes, he was more worried about his son Tucker's girlfriend being offended if she was around than slurring her."

Or variations thereof.

Ron Paul talks about his "phenomenal" fund-raising day, as Wolf Blitzer describes it. Paul, a Republican presidential candidate raised over 4.2 million dollars in one day as part of his campaign's "Money Bomb" fund-raising activities.

Wolf Blitzer interview Paul in the "Situation Room".

Video is 6:56.

Blitzer calls the fund-raising effort "amazing" and asks Dr. Paul why he thinks it was accomplished.

Paul attributes the effort to "frustration" by the "grass roots".
Blitzer also says that Paul's support in the CNN Poll has risen to 5%--more than double what he had two months ago.

Paul talks about what, if any, other candidates he might support. Blitzer also asks Paul if he'd run as a third-party candidate.

Dr. Paul says that if he does not get the nomination, he will remain in Congress.

Blitzer also details the many dissenting votes that Paul has cast in 425-1 House bills.

This may change the way other campaigns plan their fund-raising tactics.

More Chapman family news from Reuters:

Celebrity bounty hunter Duane "Dog" Chapman, whose reality TV show has been pulled from the air indefinitely after he used a racial slur, says he still loves the son who sold the tape of his private remark.

Cable channel A&E took the popular show, "Dog the Bounty Hunter," off its schedule for the foreseeable future after a private phone call in which Chapman used an offensive term to describe his son Tucker's black girlfriend hit the Internet.

Chapman said his son Tucker had sold the tape of the conversation that dates back to March to The National Enquirer but he did not know why.

"He will not talk to me," said Chapman, who has 12 children and has been married five times.

"His mother's in on it with him. I have been away from her since the '80s so now she is like getting even," he told the Larry King Live show on CNN on Wednesday night.

A teary Chapman, who has apologized repeatedly since the tape was made public and promised to make amends, said he had used the epithet "nigger" on a heated call with his son while admitting he was probably interfering in his life.

Chapman said Tucker had been sent to prison at the age of 18 and served four years of a 20 year sentence for armed robbery before being released on parole.

"I tried to take control of his life (after this)," said Chapman, himself an ex-con. "I heard this girl was maybe not being the best for Tucker -- and I'll leave it like that -- so I tried to interfere.

"I don't care if she is black at all. He's on parole for a 20 year sentence and if he messes up he goes back."
Honolulu-based Chapman, 54, who says he is a devout Christian, made no comment on reports that his son sold the tape for $15,000.

"All I want him to know is that I love him very much," he said.

A&E has said no decision has been made to cancel the program, which is shown in more than 10 countries, and the network will review the situation again later this month.

Chapman, with his trademark scraggly long blond hair and leather wardrobe, rose to fame after his 2003 tracking and capture of Max Factor heir and serial rapist Andrew Luster in Mexico.

This led to an offer for a reality TV show following him and his "posse" tracking down people who jump bail.
Sounds like a concerned father.

Our sit-down with author Marcus Wilder must have attracted some attention. The Wilder interview was a Q and A session with author about his travels and wanderings in Pakistan, the people and the riveting things he observed.

Apparently, some of DBKP's readers had their interest piqued. Naive and Abroad: Pakistan, Travel in a Land of Mullahs moved up almost 90,000 notches at Amazon, where the book can be obtained.

After some of the eye-openers Marcus disclosed here this past weekend, we're not surprised. Read the interview, get the book. That's our take in the nutshell.

The dog went one-on-one with Larry King on LIVE last night. Did he make a case for himself? Was the public convinced that Dog the Bounty Hunter should return to the air?

If the response at Death by 1000 Papercuts is any indication, opinion for the Dog's return is running about 90% in favor of the Bounty Hunter's show to start back up.

Tonight's Larry King LIVE features Dr. Phil analyzing Dog the Bounty Hunter. Bizarre or merely opportunistic? You can be the judge.

Watch the VIDEO about Dog's possible legal fall-out from the "cellphone tapes" sold by his son, Tucker, to the National Enquirer.

Last night's Dog and Larry show from Larry King LIVE:

DUANE "DOG" CHAPMAN, THE BOUNTY HUNTER: I'm not going to take a chance ever in life of losing everything I've worked for for 30 years because some (EXPLETIVE LANGUAGE) heard us say (EXPLETIVE LANGUAGE) and turned us in to the 'Enquirer' magazine.

KING: And his public world explodes. His hit reality TV show is off the air, his reputation seriously damaged. The humiliating fallout from his racial slur, recorded and sold by his own son.

Duane "Dog" Chapman responds live -- uncut, uncensored, unreal.

It's all next on LARRY KING LIVE.

We are in Los Angeles with Duane "Dog" Chapman.

How are you -- how are you handling all of this?

D. CHAPMAN: I'm still alive.

KING: Other than that?

D. CHAPMAN: Not very -- not very good. I've been here several times sitting in front of you. Tonight, it felt like I was coming to the electric chair.

KING: Really?

D. CHAPMAN: I'm sorry -- to tell you personally, first of all, I'm very sorry. I know you had, also, a lot of faith in me. I'm very sorry for using that word. Please don't think any less of me. And I'm going to fix it.

KING: All right, let's discuss it.

What's in your head right now?

D. CHAPMAN: A way to fix this and where it would never happen again and, you know, how sorry I really am to say that. And try not to use any excuses why I would have said it, but to never say it again.

KING: How do you fix it?

D. CHAPMAN: Well, I will continue doing the things I've done working with, you know, interracial people. And I just have to -- I have some classes I have to go to. And I need to get a greater vocabulary than what I have, obviously. And when I get mad and my brain searches for "A" word, I have to find different words. And to do that, you have to be -- have more of an education. That's what (INAUDIBLE).

KING: This was the vocabulary, "Dog," that you've had all of your life?

D. CHAPMAN: Yes. You know, I've probably used and had that kind of vocabulary my whole life, yes.

KING: So you've had, would you say, a limited vocabulary, due to not a great education?

D. CHAPMAN: Well, if I could -- I graduated from the seventh grade, you know. I mean I dropped out of school -- and I don't want to blame it on that. I know right from wrong.

I'm not that kind of guy. I knew I probably should have never used that. But I thought I was cool enough to be able to use that. But to blame it on ignorance and unlearned, that's not -- no.

KING: It's tough to hear, but let's listen to a segment of the taped phone call that landed you in this world of hurt.

This is courtesy of the "National Enquirer," which, by the way, made the tape public.

(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)

D. CHAPMAN: I don't care if she's a Mexican, a whore, whatever. It's not because she's black, it's because we use the word n****r sometimes here. I'm not going to take a chance ever in life of losing everything I've worked for for 30 years because some f**king n****r heard us say n****r and turned us in to the "Enquirer Magazine." Our career is over. I'm not taking that chance at all -- never in life. Never. Never.

(END AUDIO CLIP)

KING: How did you find out about this tape?

D. CHAPMAN: I was woken up like someone had passed away in my family. And Beth said Tucker tape recorded you at 4:00 in the morning. She woke me up and said Tucker had tape recorded me and called the "National Enquirer".

I knew that the "National Enquirer" had been hanging around me for about a year and I knew that, you know, anything you could say would be held against you. So...

KING: How was Tucker able to tape it? D. CHAPMAN: I was on the telephone with Tucker. I was very upset at him.

KING: And he had the tape on his end?

D. CHAPMAN: I believe so. Yes, sir. I haven't asked, really, how -- three party, six party or how it was done. I was talking to my son and bam, the next day -- this was in March, so about eight months ago this happened. And I wondered why he held it so long.

KING: Oh, it was that long ago?

D. CHAPMAN: Yes, sir.

KING: All right, what's the story between you and Tucker and this girl?

D. CHAPMAN: Well, Monique is Tucker's girlfriend. He hadn't introduced me to her for a long time. I had some suspicions that -- Tucker had just got out of prison. He went to prison at 18-years-old.

He did four years for an armed robbery and got a 20-year sentence.

So when Tucker got out, I immediately, you know, started being the dad I wasn't and said, you know, do this, do that. And I tried to take control of his life.

So I heard that this girl maybe was not being the best for Tucker -- and I'll leave it like that. So I tried to intervene inside there. And one day outside my office, these girls were going to jump Beth and tape record Beth and try to get her to fight.

KING: Your wife?

D. CHAPMAN: My wife, Beth. Right. And they had dressed -- four of the five had tank shirts on, these girls. So -- and one of them was Tucker's girlfriend. So I called him up and said, you know, what are you doing, son? What are you guys doing here?

And the whole idea was the "Enquirer Magazine" was trying to trap me using racial slurs or -- in the celebrity world, anything you can -- and you know this...

KING: But how did they know you might use those words?

D. CHAPMAN: Well, I'm sure they said here -- this guy, "Dog" has been to prison. You know, he's this rehabilitated guy. If anybody is a pin cushion for something to go wrong, I'm sure "Dog" is going to say that.

KING: Now the reason you didn't like -- or don't like -- your son's girlfriend is not that she's black?

D. CHAPMAN: No. I don't care -- you know...

KING: That has nothing to do with it?

D. CHAPMAN: Nothing to do with any kind -- any of that. I don't care if she's black at all. It was the -- you know, he's on parole for a 20-year sentence. If he messes up, he goes back. I didn't want him...

KING: And she's bad for him?

D. CHAPMAN: I thought, at the time. You know, now it -- I might change my mind, but at that time -- I mean he said, "Dad, I would never record you, I'm not doing this," as he's recording me. You know, "Dad, she's not bad for me," as now, is she or not?

I mean I don't know. But I tried to take control of him and...

KING: So you didn't like her -- you didn't like her for reasons that she would be bad for your son?

D. CHAPMAN: Exactly right. Not because of her color of her skin.

KING: All right.

Then why use the word?

D. CHAPMAN: Because I -- I referenced it, you know, back -- the only word that I know that would, you know, hurt his feelings or, you know, catch his attention very fastly -- never as a prejudicial or a racial slur or anything like that. None of my other children, my little daughter nine has never heard me say it.

KING: When you heard it used by others, did it bug you?

D. CHAPMAN: Well, if it's a pure white guy that would say, you know, look at that so and so. But with black guys that come up, you know, what's up, my "Dog?" And they'd say that word first. And then, of course, I would turn around and go hi, what's up my -- and scream it. But I'd like tuck my chest in. In the black community and I, some of the guys would call each other that, as brother to brother.

KING: Why did your son sell it to the "Enquirer?"

D. CHAPMAN: Well, you know, I -- I, you know, I don't know. I mean I...

KING: Did you ask him?

D. CHAPMAN: No. I tried to...

KING: You never asked him?

D. CHAPMAN: No, he will not talk to me. I mean he's mother -- you know, he's -- his mother is in on it with him and she's told -- you know, I've been away from her since the '80s and she's...

KING: That's your other wife -- not -- that's the first wife? D. CHAPMAN: That's the first wife. She's -- I've been away from her since the '80s, so now she's like getting even. And I'm afraid to call him or he'll call the police. I mean, you know, domestic violence is terrible, so I want to stay away from him. All I want him to know is that I love him very much.

KING: You knew it was coming in the "Enquirer" before the paper came out?

D. CHAPMAN: I knew it came out the night the "Enquirer" did not -- they don't call you and say we're going to bomb your house or anything.

KING: All right.

But you knew -- in other words, you knew it was out the night -- the day it came out?

D. CHAPMAN: Yes, sir.

KING: You didn't know it was coming?

D. CHAPMAN: I didn't know it was coming.

KING: All right.

And how did you -- how did you react?

D. CHAPMAN: I was like, oh, my God. At first I thought oh my god. You know, while people know it's the truth, I thought, you know, people know it's me. They know me.

KING: You didn't think anything would happen to you?

D. CHAPMAN: Well, I knew it would happen, but I went, oh, my God, here I have to explain now what -- why, you know, I think I'm cool with the black race. And I thought -- I was thinking, God, America just would never understand that. And then when it happened, I thought, you know, wait a minute. You know, people know me. They know that I'm not prejudiced and I'm not like that. And -- but the way it hit -- I mean every country, every station, everywhere. I mean it's like, you know, this is -- I deserve it, but I'm getting flogged, you know what I mean?

KING: Sure.

This was worldwide.

D. CHAPMAN: Yes, sir.

KING: We'll be right back with Duane "Dog" Chapman.

Don't go away.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK) KING: Why we just, for proper edification, "Dog's" spiritual adviser, the Reverend Tim Storey -- who is black -- is standing by. He says he never heard you use the "N" word and if you didn't think it was wrong.

He'll be on later in the show.

Why didn't you use it around him?

D. CHAPMAN: Well, you know, he's the preacher. And I -- I

KING: (INAUDIBLE).

D. CHAPMAN: I do know it's wrong. I mean it's not "A" word that you should use -- even now, I've learned, in private. I thought I was cool enough, Larry, to be able to use that word amongst black people at certain times. You're not going to get out, you know, in a black area and yell that, because you're going to get busted up, right?

KING: You sure are.

D. CHAPMAN: But I thought I was cool with the certain people that I know and love that are black, that, you know, that can call me "whitey" and I can say -- you know what I mean?

KING: Yes.

Well, we'll hear from the reverend later.

We're going to play one more excerpt from the phone call with your son Tucker, which the "National Enquirer" printed.

Watch.

(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)

D. CHAPMAN: If Lyssa was dating a n****r we would all say f*** you! And you know that. If Lyssa brought a black guy home ya da da. And it's not that they're black. It's none of that. It's that we use the word n****r. We don't mean you F****** scum n****r without a soul. We don't mean that s*****. But America would think we mean that. And we're not taking a chance on losing everything we got over a racial slur because our son goes with a girl like that. I can't do that, Tucker. You can't expect Gary, Bonnie, Cecily, all of them young kids to -- because I'm in love for seven months. F*** that!

So I'll help you get another job but you cannot work here unless you break up with her and she's out of your life. I can't handle that s***. I've got them in the parking lot trying to record us. I got that girl saying she's going to wear a recorder.

TUCKER CHAPMAN: That's not true. I don't even know what to say.

(END AUDIO CLIP)

KING: Now there was a Lyssa mentioned. Who was she?

D. CHAPMAN: Lyssa is Tucker's biological mother.

KING: Oh.

The first wife?

D. CHAPMAN: Right. Oh, da Lisa (ph) is another one of the girls that were there. They were going to jump Beth. They had, I guess, a tape recorder on them and they were going to jump Beth. And as they were fighting, hopefully Beth would say something so the "National Enquirer" could print, you know what I mean?

So I was very upset.

What are you doing setting her up like that?

KING: Are you mad at the "Enquirer?"

D. CHAPMAN: Oh, dear Lord. They're a lie. I mean, they lie. I mean I'm -- you know, I'm...

KING: They're not lying here (INAUDIBLE).

D. CHAPMAN: Well, no, obviously -- finally, you know what I mean?

But, absolutely. I mean the guy's paying my kids to turn against me. He told my oldest son, I don't care if you lie or not, what -- tell me something about your dad. I mean they're just destroying me. I will not allow that. I mean this word could destroy me -- not them. But...

KING: Do you know what they paid Tucker?

D. CHAPMAN: I know they allegedly gave Tucker $15,000.

KING: And he needed that and he would sell his father out for $15,000?

D. CHAPMAN: Well, it's like less than 30 pieces of silver, I thought. I know he's bought a truck, a big screen TV and about probably broke by now. So...

KING: All right, were you surprised that A&E suspended the show?

D. CHAPMAN: No. Not -- I was surprised at first. And then when I turned to every channel and every newspaper and everywhere and everywhere, I was like, oh, my God.

KING: You think they're going to take you back?

D. CHAPMAN: I don't know. It's up to America. I'm like in the judgment seat now. I mean it's -- I want -- I want to come back. I'm going to some classes with Tony Robbins. I've got my preacher with me. I'm going to meet with the core group. I have met some fantastic black people. I talked to Mr. Ennis and his son. I talked to Al Sharpton's daughter.

I mean I've met some influential people that have said to me, "Dog," you need one-on-one tutoring. So -- and, you know, not to use the word and maybe some anger control management.

I think Amy is going to set a standard -- "Dog," if you can do this and you can prove and, you know, they're -- you know how they are. I mean, they're pretty strict, so.

KING: Have you talked to A&E?

D. CHAPMAN: I kind of have now, you know -- but other than I apologize and, you know, you can't -- I want America to forgive me before I can go to A&E with statistics and say...

KING: But how do the people of America forgive you?

Do you want them to write to A&E?

I mean what is...

D. CHAPMAN: Well, I just -- I don't know. I mean write to you. I don't know. I mean, yes, whatever you would do is, you know, come out and say we -- you know, we expect "Dog" never to say that word ever again. And we love "Dog" and know that he won't and that he's very sorry. And I don't mean to sound why I said it, but I've come a long way. And, Larry, it's tough to be a nobody and then work up to be a somebody. There's -- and some of the old things still hang onto you -- unfortunately, my vocabulary. And I know how you are, a very stern man. And I love you.

KING: Stern?

D. CHAPMAN: I know how you are. Yes, sir.

KING: I'm not stern.

D. CHAPMAN: And I'm not -- I'm trying not to swear. The "F" word, the "A" word, the "P" word, the "N" word -- I'm trying not to use any of those words. Then I won't be accustomed to just letting this stuff fly. I have quit swearing for four or five days. And now to hear the "F" word, when people use it, it kind of upsets me a little bit in my spirit.

I went ah, what are you saying?

And I thought today, you mean when I swore like that, that's what it meant to people?

And I don't want to ever hurt anyone.

KING: You were a swearer by nature?

D. CHAPMAN: I think I was a swearer by nature. Correct. Not -- I mean my parents didn't, you know?

KING: but you had a different life than them.

D. CHAPMAN: Yes, sir.

KING: By the way, if you head to our Web site, CNN.com/larryking, we've got a quick vote for you -- do you think "Dog's" show should be off the air?

Do you think the show should be off the air?

Right now, 66 percent say no. There's still time for you to vote. You can weigh in at CNN.com/larryking.

Are you pleased that two thirds -- two third don't think you should be off the air?

D. CHAPMAN: Oh, absolutely. I want to say thank you so much. And I want it to get to 90 percent because then the other 10 percent are the fugitives. Do I don't care -- if I can hit 90, then I'll go to A&E and say, please, can I have my job back?

KING: We'll be meeting his other son in a little while. We'll be meeting his reverend.

We'll be back with more of "Dog" right after this.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP FROM "THE VIEW," COURTESY ABC)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: It's a racist word to say...

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Right.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: ...him using it every day. But I do say, it hurt me. It really hurt me because I always looked at "Dog," the bounty hunter, as a role model.

WHOOPI GOLDBERG, CO-HOST: I have used many, many descriptive words to deal with a lot of different kind of people. And I'm guilty of that. And the only reason nobody is mad at me is because...

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Because they ain't heard you.

GOLDBERG: Well, that's what my point is.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: And they don't know about it.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

KING: Are you surprised that everybody is talking about you?

D. CHAPMAN: Yes, very surprised that everyone is talking like that. Correct.

KING: Do you think it's fair to compare you to the comedian Michael Richards, who had that racist rant at his comedy appearance or Don Imus' remark about a basketball team?

D. CHAPMAN: What I've been through right now, I wouldn't compare anybody or judge anybody, because, my God, how did they make it through that?

KING: You wonder how did they make it through?

D. CHAPMAN: Yes. I would never judge them.

KING: An e-mail question from Laurie in Windsor, Ontario: "My son went out on Halloween as you, "Dog" -- dressed as you. When we came home, this story about your rant was all over TV. My son is black. Any advice how to explain to him that you're not a hero?"

D. CHAPMAN: Well, I don't know about being a hero. I didn't want to be that. But if he went out there as me, I'm proud of that. And that Uncle "Dog" has learned there's certain words that you can never use. There are certain words -- for instance, you can't yell, "I've got a bomb" at an airport. There are certain words in the English language that you cannot use. And the "N" word is one of them. And that's any child at all -- you will not and cannot use that word.

KING: Do you believe you're a racist?

D. CHAPMAN: No. I have arrested racists. I know what they believe and how they believe.

KING: You've bounty hunted racists?

D. CHAPMAN: I've bounty hunted racists. I'm on the list for a couple of supremacist groups. And I've bounty hunted racists in other colors besides Caucasian. And they're proud to be that. And, you know, that's -- if they were in this seat, they would tell that you they are. I mean they're not -- they're not undercover racists. There's no such thing.

KING: Tucker's sister was Barbara, who died, right, in the car accident?

D. CHAPMAN: Tucker's sister is Barbara, yes, sir.

KING: Do you think there's any reaction to this -- to that death and to Tucker, a son betraying a father?

What's your...

D. CHAPMAN: Well...

KING: You're not a psychologist, but what do you make of this?

D. CHAPMAN: Well, both of them had connections with the mother. The mother, in the '80s, I -- I was speaking with Tony Robbins. I came home. She was with my best friend. I mean the mom -- when I got out in prison, Larry, I got out in '79 for murder. So a -- the pick from girls I had -- can you imagine me coming to your house saying, "Hi, my name is Duane. I just got out for a murder that I didn't do. Hi, sir. May I date your daughter?"

So my pick was not very good.

KING: (LAUGHTER).

D. CHAPMAN: You know, really. And I picked one that wasn't very good. And, you know, she did drugs with daughter the week -- with Barbara the week before Barbara got killed. I mean I did it -- I had a terrible choice, but I didn't have a big item, you know, a big area to pick from. I had to pick what I did.

Now, they're coming out 20 years ago -- anybody that I did drugs with 20 years ago or 30 years ago or anything that I did are now coming out, jumping on "National Enquirer," oh, give me $2,000 or $3,000. And they're like I remember he said this.

So I have a past. I -- the past of -- my, God, there are so many songs, the past will catch you. Please don't relive it. There is a past. And no matter what I'll be there, I'll always have that past. And it is haunting me. And to use that word is so terrible. And I'm "Dog" Chapman. I'm -- I -- you know I love black people. I love all -- I live in Hawaii, where many of us are called to Hali (ph) every day -- 30 percent Anglo-Saxon. I want to raise my children around all color. Where -- I love Hawaii. You know that. I stay there because of that.

KING: How is your wife handling it?

D. CHAPMAN: My wife is very ashamed. I mean she's, you know, as far as being the big mouth in the family, it's usually Beth. You know, I'm like usually, honey, you know, slow down. And she's like you're out of character, you know?

You -- I can't believe -- and today she said you have shamed the family. And I'm like, you know, I'm very sorry. And she's like, big daddy, then prove it. So I'm trying to prove it.

KING: Is she mad enough to want to leave you or...

D. CHAPMAN: Well, you know, I told her...

KING: I saw her outside. She seemed fine.

D. CHAPMAN: Right. But I went to her and said, you know, if any -- if you ever want to leave and become "The Beth Show," now is the time to do it. And she said, "I won't leave you."

KING: How angry are you at Tucker?

By the way, did you call him or him call -- he call you on that?

D. CHAPMAN: That day, I think I called him. Yes, sir.

KING: How mad are you?

D. CHAPMAN: Well, I'm glad you said that. You know, I went to the Lord and said, you know, Lord, forgive him, because he doesn't know what he's doing.

You know, how can you -- how mad can you get at your own kid?

You can't hate him. You can't hate him. I'm disappointed and wonder where -- did that -- did that traitor stuff come from prison?

Did that, you know, where do you learn to be a traitor at?

Why...

KING: All right.

Do you think he did it to hurt you or he needed money?

D. CHAPMAN: Well, I think that he figured his father would not be as hurt as bad as it did. But I know for sure he needed money. You know, they've got contracts. I mean they, you know, you become a rat, you get this contract with that magazine and scum magazines like that. So they've got contracts that you sign and they pay you like, you know...

KING: Couldn't he have gone to you for money?

D. CHAPMAN: But, I say -- Larry, I said, Tucker, you've got to work. See, Tucker worked for me after this happened for almost, you know, six, seven months. Then right before he turned the tape in, he got fired again. But he got fired for not doing something right. Him and Beth would get in a beef. I'd get in a beef. And then he'd got rehired. He's my son. All the kids have a particular role in -- whether it's "'Dog' The Bounty Hunter," the (INAUDIBLE) bail bond is in the family unit.

He would have came back. It's just that he, you know, chose to do this.

KING: The son we're about to meet, Chris, he's younger than Tucker?

D. CHAPMAN: Christopher is my first born son. Christopher did this, too. Christopher got out of prison last year and immediately went to the "Enquirer Magazine" and did not, you know, this -- but said some terrible things. So Christopher came yesterday and said, "Dad, I'm sorry I did the same thing."

And I go, "Why are you guys doing this?"

"Well, Dad, they're offering money. They're offering me money. And I thought -- "

KING: All right, we'll ask Chris.

D. CHAPMAN: OK.

KING: But his was not a racial reference, right?

D. CHAPMAN: No. He said I did drugs with him and that I was -- yes, think he said I was racial and I didn't like people.

KING: Really?

D. CHAPMAN: Oh, yes. Well, they stay on the subject, so it, you know, they try to make things confirm.

KING: We'll meet Chris on this edition of LARRY KING LIVE, right after this.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP FROM "'DOG' THE BOUNTY HUNTER," COURTESY A&E)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Right here. This is it right there.

D. CHAPMAN: Tell me when you're good.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: That's her window. OK, the door is open.

D. CHAPMAN: Your house is surrounded. Come on, Mona Lisa, we're coming through the door.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Watch your back.

D. CHAPMAN: Mona Lisa, open the damned door. We're going to (INAUDIBLE) you right now. We know you're in there. Open the door.

(CROSSTALK)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Open the door. We've got a warrant for your arrest.

(CROSSTALK)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: One, two, three -- take it.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Three.
